These are questions for Steve and Sarah’s ticket.

When did you decide to run in this election?

I’ll base my next question on the assumption that the answer is longer than one month ago and you have had a good deal of time to prepare for this election. Why have you brought forth so little content to the club before the end of the nomination period?

Does the amount of participation from STF in this opening week of the election concern you?

Hi Adam, thank you for the questions.

Sarah and I started thinking of running several months ago. Sarah and I were talking one night, about the good old days, and what we would do in certain situations. She suggested that I run for President, and I told her only if she would be my VP. Fast forward a week or so and she took me up on my offer, and there was no looking back!

The reason why we have only posted limited content during the nomination period is twofold. First, both Sarah and I were going to be on LOA for most of the nomination period. Sarah had a family vacation planned during that time, and for me, nominations fell directly over the largest trade show I participate in every year. I was gone for 8 days. However, we both knew this ahead of time, and since we knew we were going to be limited in our posting time during nominations, and planned on what we were going to do. Which leads me nicely into the second reason.

We had planned to post content about our platform, based around the 4-week election cycle. I know that previous campaigns had front loaded all their information, but that then left them either inactive towards the end of the election, or just reposting the same information again. Our goal was to remain active, and posting fresh content, during the entire election. So, we had planned to release our posts around that schedule.

Finally, I prefer to think of it that STF has that much confidence in us to do a good job.

But to be honest, it does concern me. Talking to a variety of people, they have expressed confidence in our leadership, and I am hoping that we will be able to rejuvenate the sense of community within this group. Not only getting new people to join us but getting more people that are willing to volunteer.
