Hi Rob,

This question is specifically for you. I do not wish to hear from your VP on this. I again apologize if these seem uncouth.

I have noticed that you routinely respond to question posts within 10-20 minutes of their original posting. Two of these occasions were in response to Adam’s questions, both of which were quite complex, and deserved consideration. However, your answers to both of these were vague to the point of being opaque and did not demonstrate any nuanced thought or opinion. I understand that your motto is “keeping it stupidly simple,” but these answers seem more like “the stupid keeping it simple,” and is unbecoming of your ticket - I expect more. Some of these questions were being debated back when I was President, many of them before that. Most of the Presidents who have grappled with them have been pretty smart, and could not address them with 8 months of working time. Why do you feel it is acceptable to dedicate less than 20 minutes of thought, routinely, to some of this club’s most complex and long-lasting questions?

In addition, you recently were questioned by Joe, Daniel, and Adam on topics that had to do with time commitment and motivation. Your answers to all of these were extremely brief and did not convince me. That is your right. However, this morning you bumped four campaign HQ topics as a way of appearing to be generating more content - I suspect in response to these questions. In my nearly 10 years in this club, I have never seen someone “bump” topics as a substitute for producing new material. Is this what we should expect from your presidency - bumped ideas that you feel are missable?

First thomas if you’re referring to the following posts I highlighted here. I do believe if i’m not mistaken they were posted a day or so after the original post went up not 10-20 mins as you say. If there is something I am missing here please do let me know because I am quite confused. If though you’re referring to another set of posts please point them out thank you.

Before I go further I would like to first get those two things addressed as I think there is some confusion going on here that I would like to get straightened out please.

Hi Rob,

I was, in fact, not confused.

Please see this album (https://imgur.com/a/K9nraNx) of screenshots exemplifying these response times, there are seven examples. The shortest time is a mere 11 minutes, the longest was about 2 hours. I include two or three examples of one or two hours because it means that you still devoted less than an entire hour of time to considering complex problems. Sometimes this results only in statements like, “that’s where I’m confused” and a brief explanation.

For the one that was 11 minutes, that means the person posted the question, you read it, “thought” about it, wrote a response, (hopefully) proof-read it, and then posted it, inside of 11 minutes. That is not an amount of time in which critical thinking is possible.

For even more context, that question was specifically about people not putting in effort into their campaigns. The questions were structured in a way to have candidates look inwards and be insightful and considerate. This question deserved more than a few minutes of loose thought.

Other examples in the screenshots include a series of questions from Adam about mentoring, which began on 3/9/19 and continue today, still with no resolve. To both of these, you gave less than 20 minutes of thought.

I do not mind that people have time commitments, and in fact, I find this understandable. I also understand why some people would cordon off specific times to dedicate specifically to STF, and not interact with the club outside of that (I even consider this to be encourageable). However, for this position that you are vying for, we must know that you will put more than 10 minutes of thought into complex problems. Please explain why you have not been doing so so far, and address my original questions as well.
