In keeping with my theme of Member Questions: I would like to know your political positions about the STF club.

(1) Do you believe that the club is a quasi-democracy or does it run by the Iron hand of the President and Vice-President? Please explain.

(2) Specifically, for the Vice-President Candidates, do you believe that you should bring members concerns to the President’s attention or are they just too busy?

Hello Timothy,

Firstly let me begin by thanking you for providing both myself and the rest of the candidates with the above question. I will now go onto answer both parts of your question.

Part 1:

It is in my opinion that the club is a democracy and is not been run by an iron fist. I have come to this decision for several reasons those been that on a daily basis I observe members of the club getting involved in a multitude of ways. Evidence of this is seen when discussions take place in command and when topics such as species reviews and ship specs take place this shows evidence of member interaction showing that the plethora of club members get to include their opinion on what is taking place in the club supporting my aforementioned claim that the club is a democracy.

Part 2:

As a Vice President candidate, it is both my opinion and belief that all concerns brought up by members should be both logged and brought to the attention of the President. It is my belief that this should take place so that they can be both effectively and efficiently discussed with the President, VP and full cabinet in order to formulate a swift resolution in order to keep the club funning in an efficient manner.

Louis, I’m wondering if you could clarify something. Are you saying that all concerns that the President and Vice President are aware of should be discussed with the full cabinet?

Hello Adam,

Thank you for the follow-up question. My apologies for not clarifying in a clear enough manner. What my intention was to get across in my original above answer was that although we would log all of the concerns submitted by members we would analyse them and from there go onto deciding witch cabinet members should be involved in a discussion to deal with the concern and compose a swift efficient resolution to the matter brought forward by the member of the club.
