In keeping with with my theme of Member Questions: I would like to know your political positions about the STF club.

(1) Do you believe that the club is a quasi-democracy or does it run by the Iron hand of the President and Vice-President? Please explain.

(2) Specifically, for the Vice-President Candiates, do you believe that you should bring members concerns to the President’s attention or are they just to busy?

1. I believe that the club is a democracy. We elect a President and Vice President, they appoint a cabinet; and while the President does wield considerable power, there are checks to that power. I think that the President and Vice-President are there to represent the club as a whole, and utilize their time in office to put action to the members expressed needs and wants.

2. I believe one of the primary duties of the Vice President is to keep the President informed of issues or needs within the club. I think the President can utilize the Vice President role most effectively by delegating some of the more minor issues that require Administration attention, but not necessarily the President’s, to the Vice President. That is one reason I am very excited to be running with David. We work very well together, and we both know that each of us has the best interests of the club and it’s members at the core of our decision making. Most importantly, we trust one another to make the right call.
