Unless I’m mistaken, I think the point of Joe’s question about questions was missed; and if I am wrong, I think this point is worth asking as well. This is for all the candidates, and to reiterate, the following comment had been made:

If only questions mattered other than to piss off the candidates…

Everyone answered about questions targeted at pissing someone off, but I believe the point is actually do questions to candidates actually matter? Will answers to these questions change anything?

With that in mind, I reiterate Joe’s questions:

Do you agree with this sentiment? Why or why not?
If you were in a conversation with someone and they said something like this, how would you react?
Do you think this sentiment is indicative of a larger problem with our club? If yes, what is the problem and what (if anything) would you do to solve it? If not, why not?

As I intended to bring across, and failed, apparently, in my response, was that questions can’t matter if we aren’t going to let them.

If I (or anyone!) apply a tone to someone’s text they didn’t intend, and answer in that assumption, then the question isn’t actually going to matter, at least to me. I believe questions can matter if we can either learn to ask a person, either privately or publicly (though privately might be better) what they mean. But if we cannot learn to do that or to read text without giving it tone it doesn’t have, then we’re not going to be able to make the questions matter much.
