Good afternoon everyone. Once more eight months has gone by and once more we all cram together in the Election Bleacher Seats to watch four esteemed eager combatants battle it out for your enjoyment to lead the club for another eight months!

With that introduction, for those of you who may not know me, I am Robert Archer. Also known a lot better as CockRoach or GM CockRoach, as well as a variety of other nicknames that people have given me over the years.

I have been a part of this club since mid-August 2006. For a bit of club service history of myself, I have been a very active GM in one form or another too since roughly 2010. I have been a part of the club government since roughly that time too in various spots. To name a few they would include being a part of and running the club’s Engineering Department. Briefly Fleet Commander of Foremost and Black Fleet. Gamemaster Mentor and for four times in the past also the club’s president and/or vice president.

I am a member though that I have always made a constant effort to be down to Earth and approachable to members new and old. I strive to be someone who is fair and tries to problem solve to the best of my ability, as well as seek to train interested members in different areas of my experiences in the club so they too can further contribute and grow within our community.

It is for this reason I have in my most recent past term, and if elected this term as well sought to run with members who have less experience in the club’s political arena then others. Katy Darrah is one such member who while being with us for a few years and having some recent impact in the Government in recent terms is my choice for running mate and prospect vice president with me.

Katy and I are good friends both in and out of the club. I feel though our experience and experiences together provide a solid balance to each other and how we will seek to work for the club in the coming term. Our goals which we will go into more detail in a series of HQ posts can though be summed up on the following points:

The first major point is from the top of the club down to hold everyone to the same standards we all have agreed too. To achieve this Katy and I will be closely working with the Cabinet and FComms of all fleets and be performing an ‘audit’ of sorts listing the problem ships, positions, etc to then work to make corrective actions where needed.
Our second major point is to work on efforts I have done in my most recent terms when I was president by holding what I have come to call ‘Voice Of The Club’ events in both Discord every month or so as life allows Katy and I with anyone who shows up to be able to approach us and discuss different issues which we can get details on then also if needed discuss or address further in Command or other appropriate areas. Also during these events there will be different club activities done. For example, trivia night, episode watch parties, ship highlights and opening opportunities, etc. The idea being to hang out and highlight great things within STF’s community.
Our third major point is to build off the above with an expanded effort both within the club and without encouraging current members to talk up STF for interested known parties to draw in new members. We also want to form what we are tentatively calling ‘Membership Ambassador’ (name to be changed to something better most likely!) executive position which would entail at least one more person to be able to refer and guide new and old members within the club to find answers to questions they have.
Our fourth major point is to look at a rethinking of management of the current Cabinet and/or Fleets depending on the ability to get members to fill such roles. Some plans which we will go further into soon would be the idea of reforging the GM Department and Engineering Department together. Thereby reducing the number of members needed to fill the core roles of both departments from five or six down to three to four. The same would be evaluated for the ship Fleets if any trouble ships can not be fixed to shuffle those which remain into other fleets.

Further information on these four core details will be forthcoming in future HQ posts. In short, Katy and I would love to have your forthcoming vote when it opens and elect us because we will work hard for all members of the club. We also strive to give the ability for everyone to chime in on matters where possible, and though the final say on different matters will lie with me as President I believe I established a long historical pattern that I will always do what I think is best for the community to the best I can, as well carrying through with what I set out to do.

Hello STFers! If you don’t know me, I’m Katy Darrah. I’ve been a member of STF off-and-on for over 10 years now, god I feel old! I have done a little bit of everything, CO, XO, DH, JO, AFComm, tried GMing at one point, EDir, Pdept helper, CMM (currently) you name it I might have done it. Used to be CO of the (now gone) USS Constellation, where I was named Capybara, because I love and tolerate and get along with pretty much everyone.

As Rob said, this is my first foray into STF government top-level but I was EDir a couple terms ago.

Because of my previous experience with the Personnel Department, I know stuff about how they work that Rob might not know. And because of my lack of experience in the higher levels of government, I may think of solutions or problems with a proposal that he may not realize.

I’m also very approachable, so I can often hear from people who don’t have the confidence to approach someone else about their problems and propose better solutions to them.

Katy
