Both candidates mentioned the decline in the club’s membership. It seems the club doesn’t have much of a marketing department and this is important because it’s one of the key components to drawing new members to the club. Just as the CO and XO are encouraged to recruit and fill vacant positions on their ships, I think the President of the club should make efforts to bring new members into the club to make recruiting more feasible.
I am interested to know if either candidate has considered how they will handle this issue or has plans to ramp up the club’s marketing to draw in new members and ensure the longevity of the site. Will you share your thoughts/plans regarding this?

So as Joe has mentioned the past two terms including this one the CMM role lay empty. James and I did make efforts to fill it, however, each time we advertised for it or asked around to different people in person we came up hitting dead ends. By nearing the end of the term we began to brain storm ideas on how to mold the CMM duties into other areas of the club and/or remold what forms it would take so that instead of one person filling it it could be handled by more then one, and also formalize the different avenues how STF should be advertised and provide the tools and resources to do so say on Discord in RPG advertising rooms, and other places. In the end with this left open and unfinished I shouldered the effort to do advertising internally in STF encouraging members to spread the word about STF by word of mouth.

That said while getting new members is always great and should be a focus of the club. I feel that improving the current club as it is now is equally important. Making sure we have consistent academy and main fleet experiences, clearly understood expectations of membership and how to handle things, etc will not only let us grow those we have now, but as we do get members who come across us also increase the chances of retaining those members.

Again I’ll go somewhat into those ideas in a HQ post soon. For now I hope this answers your question.
