The first part is about the cabinet. It has been my experience since I first joined the GMD, and particularly in the terms I have been GM Director, that the cabinet is not a particularly unified body. (Shocking, right?) What I mean by that isn’t that we don’t always agree, it’s that we don’t even talk to each other that much. Unless there’s a proposal we need to find a highly technical reason to kill or a fire to put out somewhere, we don’t talk to each other. Is this something either ticket would seek to address, and if so, how?

So you are right often the cabinet doesn’t always actively talk to each other, not just in Discord but on the boards or email unless something comes up. I will say I did make an effort this term to try to contact the cabinet every month or so, especially with things I wanted to know in emails, usually say regarding the later planned Voice Of The Club event I was looking for submissions for different things from everyone, sadly barring a small handful of things from one or two folks I didn’t get anything. This was frustrating to me and I tried to contact again those particular departments by email forwards but oddly never again got back things often. Maybe its due to something wrong with the forwards with STF? I’m not sure entirely. I also then turned to Discord PMs when those people were in discord, this got a bit more success.

I will admit I probably could have used the #Cabinet room a bit more in Discord, but given not everyone in the cabinet reads it, is active in discord, etc, email seemed the best way to go to me, which seemed equally to be some kind of roadblock. So I guess the first thing foremost to do is connect with TECH and figure out how we can clear up any possible blockages with the email forwards due to say spam bot build up or such or major email providers blocking STF as spam and the like.

Second, is club community. We really should get some. Both tickets mentioned in their intro posts plans associated with membership and getting us all on the same page. I’d like to hear in detail how those are intended to work and how feasible you honestly think they are over one term.
