Ok so first off Joe thank you for your questions for James and I. We will try to take your questions bit by bit to reply too.

These questions are specifically for Rob and James.

Gentlemen, as of right now, you are the only ticket running. If nobody else is nominated in the next 14 hours, we will have an uncontested election and you will end up being the winners by default. This recently happened in late 2019, when Steve Johnson and Sarah Hemenway won in exactly this fashion.

1. Why do you think you are the only ticket running? Do you think this is indicative of anything regarding the current state of the club? If yes, what is it indicative of? If no, why do you think that?

So for your first question, we feel this is indicative of multiple factors currently being faced within and outside of the club by our members at large. First off there is the obvious chaotic nature of the real world that is affecting everyone in some form or another. Obviously the past two years have been a struggle for everyone, and added to this is this time of year is brutally slow period for the club with the other factors in play everyone is we feel being pulled in a multitude of ways away from club activities. We also think is indicative of the state of the club and how it is perceived by many members within the club. The perception of somewhat aggressive interactions within the club may have left a sour taste in some people’s mouths, but looking back on the previous administration things have been quite civil which we feel is a great step in the right direction. As such we want to just highlight and commend the previous administrations for their ability to maintain a productive and civil discourse which is a trend we wish to continue into the next term.

1. Please briefly outline what you intend to do as President and Vice President of the club. Do you have any specific ideas or plans? If yes, summarize them in a sentence or two; no need to write up a giant “platform” or anything. If you don’t, that’s perfectly fine, but please indicate it.

Ok so you asked us to sum up our platform in one or two sentences. Something which I’m sure we all know is not an easy task often. But in trying to do that, we would say summing up our ideas for the coming term if elected would be to prioritize the positive and deemphasize the negative. James and I both understand this is not an all encompassing detailed plan, but we are going to make such a post regardless if anyone is going to run or not and post a platform and entertain questions about anything that may arise.

If another ticket begins campaigning before you have a chance to answer the questions, please answer as if they are not currently running.

Regardless if anyone else is going to run or not we are planning to run this platform as if someone was going to be. And plan to run this platform as a regular election with multiple tickets as we feel we have a responsibility to the club membership to hold discussions and answer questions that may come from that.
