Greetings everyone! I am your lovable CockRoach among the STF Zoo folks, also known as Robert Archer. I wanted to first thank everyone that has nominated myself and James for this coming election cycle and period. Before James and I jump into laying out our plans for the election and if we win our coming term, I wanted to give both myself and James the chance to do a little introduction of ourselves for all our readers.

So first off for myself I want to say I have been a part of STF since first joining back in late 2006 putting me at almost 15 years as part of this club! Looking back on it that’s almost half of my real life age! It’s an amazing feeling to be part of a club that’s been around since 1991 back in the dawning days of the internet! In those 15 years I have been numerous JOs, Department Heads, and the XO on the Merrimack (STF’s only post st6 movie era ship!), as well as longtime CO of the Ark Angel since about 09 or so, (STF’s longest running and original ship dating back to the club’s founding in 91!).

I have also been a gamemaster on numerous ships over the years, but currently hold such roles on the Ark Angel where I’m the club’s only currently active CO/GM. I also GM on the Bonaventure, the Sentinel, and the aforementioned Merrimack. All are roles I love to death, and I could go on for ages detailing how I got a huge stack of GM ideas for sims for the club, but I won’t bore you all on that.

The other area I have been quite active over the years with is STF’s amazing Engineering Department, where I have created and helped create numerous ship designs, technology designs, and helped over newer designers submit and pass their own ideas! The EDept as it is often short handed to be called, is a great love of mine, and I know is often a place people chuckle and groan over too as being ‘tech scary’. But honestly like anything it isn’t, it just takes time to learn the ins and outs of how things work like anything else in STF and like many things in STF working with others to learn and grow makes that task far easier to swallow. In this role with the EDept I have helmed it as the Director and Assistant Director for more times then I can count in past Presidential cycles. I worked hard in that time to create the current ship design process called Modern Navy Plan, as well as tweak some of the other design processes that were a bit unclear back in the day. I also worked hard to bring new life to the department in washing away the older stigma of it being a ‘tech only minded’ place and having such a negative view and attitude associated with it. To this point I think I overall did a solid job on that front with the aid of others through the years.

Lastly and probably most importantly I have previously ran for and been elected as STF’s Presidential in the past. While this my third time running for the position and I only have held if once before. I feel that overall in that time I did well with the aide of my VPrez and Cabinet at the time. While it was by no means what I would consider a perfect presidential term, I was able to pass XFleet’s final review with the aid of others, as well as attempt to manage a lot of the day to day processes needed during that time.

This brings me to my last introduction point of knowing about me. Simply put in matters of STF related to the political side I try my best to be an impartial person. I try to evaluate the good and the bad, the pros and the cons, and wherever I can look to be supported or educated by those with more knowledge then myself. I then weigh this all together and make the best choice I feel is called for at that time. As my first term as president shows sometimes this is the correct one, others I make mistakes. When this happens I try to learn from it and better myself to attempt to avoid it happening again. I also strive to be a friendly, open and approachable person to new and old members alike. I’m not too proud to say that a lot of members consider me to be the ‘tech nerd’ of STF. While some of that may be true to a point I admit, the point I’m getting too is that working together as a community is what betters STF. No one person should ‘know it all’, nor should be expected to. Enriching new and old members alike should be a constant purpose we in STF strive to do as we work together to collaborate one of the richest Star Trek Roleplaying and Writing communities I have ever had the pleasure of coming across.
