irst it is well written, but might ai ask what do we do with psychiatric patents? Sticking them in sickbay would be problematic, this leaves only restriction to quarters and the brig.
Might I suggest imbedding the psyche unit into the Guest Quarters. As one presumes to have enhanced security in place there already, each “office” would then support one quadrant of the guest suit as a separate contained unit. Thus the quest suit becomes a multi use space for inpatient Psych care, extended stay impatient care, Hospice, family respite and guest quarters.
the office block as described becomes the centralized nurses station with the receptionist AI being able to unobtrusively monitor patients.
If your taking the hospital to a disaster mental health is going to be a big part of the job.
Now how the mental hygiene department interacts with the medical department is another discussion to be had…

We can see a way of doing that and it makes sense to have a separate facility. It would have to be geared for more short-term patients, since long-term ones would likely go to one of Starfleet Medical’s specialized facilities (like we see with Future Tuvok in the finale of Voyager).
