Hey guys so this is the first thread that I’ve ever done here serving as the Engineering Director. And I would like your guys opinion to see what we can do to put us out there engage people that we are looking for technology Specs or Ship Design Specs. What do you both think? Opinions, suggestions whatever works will work for me. I want us to all work all in one as a good team. And I want this to be the first start.

Solid direction. If the objective is to increase visibility and attract participation around technology specs and ship design work, we should treat this less like a casual callout and more like a structured engineering pipeline. People respond better when expectations and format are clear, and when there’s something tangible they can plug into immediately.
A few practical steps that would strengthen this quickly:
Standardize how we request and publish specs (template for ship systems, upgrades, and open design needs)
Maintain a centralized “open engineering requests” thread so contributors always know what’s needed
Break larger projects into modular design briefs so smaller teams or individuals can contribute without needing full system ownership
Periodically showcase completed work or approved designs so contributors see real outcomes
Coordinate early with Operations and Tactical so engineering specs reflect actual mission use, not just theory
Long term, we should also build a living systems reference—something like a ship engineering bible that gets updated as we evolve. That gives continuity, reduces repeated questions, and helps new contributors onboard faster. If we keep the structure tight and the expectations clear, engagement will follow naturally.
