HISTORY AND MISSION OVERVIEW
During the early stages of the Anomaly Research Unit (ARU) known as Leviathan, the ARU initially utilised a modified Mjolnir carrier. However, the foresight of the ARU leadership quickly recognised the need for a ship built fit for purpose and specialised in anomaly detection, containment and transportation.

Project Hammer and Shield, (Hamield) was therefore initiated a decade ago in the year 2390.

It was agreed that they would be granted provisions to construct 4 ships under guidance from consultants from the Starfleet Engineering Corp and would be subject to Quality Assurance by Beta Antares Auditors to ensure design and construction met starfleet standards. If the initial rollout proved successful a further procurement and construction phase would be reviewed.

In 2392, the ARU unveiled the first prototype, showcasing the initial strides towards a purpose-built ship that fully met the needs of the ARUs ongoing mission. By 2395, the Hamield-class had undergone successful deep space trials, and included the introduction of AMOS-I OS.

In 2397, the vessel was tested in the ARU’s Combined Arm Maneuver Exercise, where ships from within the ARUs command structure undergo a series of training and assessment exercises, this was the first time the Hamield class was put in front of ARU leadership allowing it to showcase its adaptability and operational ability. The demonstration solidified the Hamield-class Starship as the flagship of the ARU’s mission, excelling in Anomaly Containment, Advanced Research, Deep Space Exploration, and Escort Duties, at the turn of the year the design saw the introduction of the SpARTa system to further boost its offensive capabilities.

As the ARU enters the final year in the 24th Century the Hamield-class Starship has emerged as the culmination of relentless innovation and strategic planning. A fusion of ‘Ham’ from hammer denoting the robustness reminiscent of a hammer and ‘ield’ from shield representing the protective attributes integral to its missions, epitomises the essence of this formidable vessel a brainchild of the ARU Project Leaders, improved by the specialists from Beta Anteres, consulted by Starfleet Engineering Corps and built by the ARU.

STRUCTURE AND CONSTRUCTION

==Placeholder for image

The Hamield-class boasts a distinctive design featuring a large outer oval saucer section intersecting an arrow-like substructure which extends from the aft section of the saucer narrowing to a point just forward of half the length of the saucer. This saucer section integrates two mirrored, angled nacelles on each side to a total of four nacelles, positioned towards the rear of the saucer and serving as the sole connecting points to the overhead modular system. Each nacelle is equipped with a pointed ‘fin,’ strategically enhancing the ship’s aerospace capabilities. The pointed ‘fin’ on each nacelle of the ship design serves various functions despite the lack of air resistance. Firstly, it aids in streamlining the craft, minimizing resistance from particles such as dust or gas molecules. Additionally, the fin provides stabilization during manoeuvres, ensuring precise adjustments in orientation or trajectory. Moreover, it assists in dissipating excess heat generated during high-speed travel or when exposed to radiation, thereby enhancing overall performance and longevity. Finally, the fin serves as structural reinforcement, providing added support during high-stress situations like rapid acceleration or deceleration.

Connected to the saucer section is a cylindrical main body, forming the ‘tail’ that extends below the nacelles and aligns directly beneath the rear of the saucer section. The arrow sub-section houses the deflector dish, protruding between two robust pylons within its reinforced shell. Situated below the overhead module, there exists a significant gap, and the module system itself is linked to the nacelles by two flat, hollowed (yet reinforced) supporting pylons.

The ship’s hull armor is composed of a 5cm high-density duranium alloy and plastics, creating a composite hull. Notably, the vessel is equipped with kinetic reactive armor. Deviating from conventional increased hull layering systems, engineers opted for a reduction in overall size and weight while preserving multiple decks.

Due to its unique mission, Starbase Hades inside the Ion Nebular, due to its unique masking properties is the home of the construction, the Starbase houses five dry docks and two large anti-gravity chambers allowing for the construction of the ships which so far two have been built.

SCIENCE AND REMOTE SENSING SYSTEMS
The Hamield Class incorporates an array of sensor technology strategically positioned to cover forward, rear, and unilateral perspectives. The primary set comprises Type VIII Scientific sensors, with the most potent cluster featuring seven forward-facing long-range subspace sensors directly situated behind the main deflector dish. This arrangement optimally spans a range of 3.72 light years for high-resolution operations, extending to 13 light-years for low-resolution tasks.

The computer system is anchored by a isolinear computer core which supports the use of the developed but not implemented OS system AMOS-I. ARU research and developers decided to reattempt the use of an alternative operating system as they felt that AMOS was a far more functional operating system compared to LCARS and that the steep learning curve identified was a mere attempt to continue to contract the use of MAJEL and LCARS. AMOS also performed 33.6% more efficiently than LCARS and MAJEL making it an easy choice of OS for the ARU, and additionally a training package has been installed into the OS for personnel to learn how to adapt.

As a precaution against potential threats, a separate air-gapped backup consisting of 3 Isolinear Data Cores is in place, designed to thwart enemy electromagnetic and cyber attacks. The transition between primary and secondary cores, during optimal operating conditions, is executed with remarkable speed, taking a mere 500 Nanoseconds.

To enhance versatility and situational awareness, the ship features a holo emitter system throughout its entirety. This system facilitates the deployment of the latest Federation Emergency hologram, ensuring the ship remains equipped with the most up-to-date and standard emergency response capabilities.

WARP PROPULSION SYSTEM

The Hamield-class features a symmetrical arrangement of four nacelles, with each pair serving as a mirror image of its counterpart. Positioned at the same level as the ship’s saucer section, these nacelles act as the exclusive points of contact for the overhead module, firmly fixed in place and certified as subspace safe.

Empowered by the cutting-edge Class-X Warp propulsion system, the Hamield-class demonstrates remarkable speed capabilities. Its cruising speed of warp 7 with a maximum sustainable velocity of 9.9, with the capacity to reach a peak warp of 9.99 for a duration of 12 hours. For emergency scenarios, the Hamield-class can push its boundaries further, reaching a warp speed of 9.995, albeit strictly for temporary and critical situations and for very short periods of no more than 2 hours and a 24-hour cooldown.

IMPULSE PROPULSION SYSTEM
The primary impulse engines of which there are two are strategically positioned behind the large outer oval saucer section intersection with the arrow-like substructure of the main saucer section between the two pylons to the OHM on deck 29 through to deck 32.

Under normal operating conditions, the Hamield-class achieves an impulse speed of 0.25c. This optimal speed is attained in favorable circumstances, showcasing the vessel’s capability for efficient sublight travel.

TACTICAL SYSTEMS

Defensive Shields

== Placeholder for image

The Hamield-class relies on advanced shield technology as a primary defence mechanism against incoming energy weapons, featuring a formidable Type-XI Shield Emitter. This emitter boasts a remarkable capacity, capable of generating a maximum 2419MW Max Graviton load, with an impressive Max dissipation rate of 6.57 x 10^5kWs. The strategic placement of Shield Emitter One forward of the oval section enhances the vessel’s frontal defensive capabilities.

Shield Emitter Two is strategically positioned in the center of the Tail section, further fortifying the ship’s defences.

The medical locations are able to offer the full range of medical treatment from basic health to obstetrics to specific types of surgery and long term care, but on a small scale.

The ship utilises two EMH Mark IX programs, Adam and Eve. Holo Emitters are also placed throughout the ship to allow the EMH program to operate anywhere there are casualties.

Sickbay has 5 surgical suites with the latest in surgical frames, 5 long-term patient recovery rooms, 5 ICU suits and 18 biobed. The CMO’s office with the ability to monitor all medical locations in both sickbays, and the head nurse station is also located here. As well as medical labs. A small mess hall and ‘overnight’ quarters for medical staff.

Secondary Sickbay (Also known as overflow sickbay) is equipped with 5 biobeds in the main medical bay, 5 ICU suites, 3 surgical suites with the latest in surgical frames, 2 long-term patient recovery rooms. This is mostly a nurse’s station unless the primary sickbay is full or the ship goes to yellow or red alert.

UTILITY SYSTEMS

The Hamield class comes with one large primary cargo bay located on deck 30, though smaller cargo bays can be found around the ship on deck 23, 28 and 33.. Each cargo bay is equipped with a Cargo transporter and industrial replicator.

Transporters are sporadically situated throughout the ship with a total of six normal functioning transporter rooms and two emergency transporters on deck 18 and in close proximity to the sickbay.

Each normal transporter is capable of transporting six personnel at a time. Two transporter rooms are on deck 8, two are on deck 24, and two are on deck 24. Each transporter system has a range of 40,000 km. The Two emergency 12-person transporters each have a range of 15,000 km.

There are Two Tractor beams operated on the Hamield class, one Aft and one Fore. The main tractor beam emitters are capable of handling a mass of 7,500,000 metric tonnes at less than 1,000 meters. For a mass of one metric ton at the same delta-v, the effective range is 20,000 kilometers. The main tractor emitters use a pair of 16 Megawatt graviton polarity sources, for a total of 32 Megawatt graviton displacement power.

The Hamield makes use of an extensive Turbo Lift System. However, there is no turbo-lift access to the Overhead module system. This is done by using the two hollowed pylons in which a Zero G environment is created, along the walls is a conveyor system of attached handles which you can hold onto as it moves you through the environment. There are also designated points at the base and top of the pylons with integral pattern buffers separate from the main transporter system. The reason for this design is as a result of the overhead module housing the main Anomaly storage and containment sections.

There is an emergency stop at either end of the Pylon and each handle has its own integral disconnect, stop and communications switch. On either side of the Pylon are access ladders/steps for manual walking.

AMOS Data Room

The purpose of the AMOS-I Data Room is to provide a secure and controlled environment for storing, managing, and accessing the vast amount of data collected by the AMOS-I system aboard the starship. It serves as a centralized hub for analyzing sensor data, facilitating decision-making during exploration missions, and supporting scientific research endeavors. Additionally, the data room enables collaboration among crew members and ensures compliance with data security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.

Anomaly Containment Units

Anomaly Containment Units aboard the Hamield are specialized areas located exclusively within the overhead module, designed to secure and manage potentially hazardous or anomalous entities encountered during space exploration. These units are essential for safeguarding the ship’s crew and maintaining the vessel’s integrity. Equipped with devices tailored for securing, quarantining, and researching anomalies, these units vary in design to accommodate different types of anomalies, from energy fields to containment pods with adjustable parameters. Advanced climate control systems regulate temperature and pressure levels to accommodate diverse environmental needs, while forcefields create physical barriers between anomalies and the rest of the ship, with adjustable configurations based on threat assessments. Isolated power systems ensure continuous operation of containment measures, supplemented by the ship’s main power system in case of failure. High-tech sensor arrays monitor anomaly behaviour, supporting research efforts conducted in dedicated laboratory spaces within the containment units. Isolated communication channels allow specialists to coordinate without risking cross-contamination, while automated response systems seal off affected areas during emergencies and alert security and medical teams as needed.
