HISTORY AND MISSION OVERVIEW

Project Hammer and Shield, initiated a decade ago in the year 2390, the ARU were identified as being best placed to manage the project being specialised in a anomaly detection and containment after the need for a specific ship line to facilitate their mission, it was also decided that they would be granted provisions to construct 4 ships under guidance from Starfleet Engineering Corp and would be subject to Quality Assurance by Utopia Planitia Auditors to ensure design and construction met starfleet standards, with the opportunity that if the initial roll out proved successful a further procurement and construction phase would be reviewed. During the early stages of this initiative, known as Leviathan, the ARU utilized a modified Mjolnir carrier. However, the foresight of the ARU leadership quickly recognized the necessity for a purpose-built design to meet the unique demands of their operations. This pivotal realization marked a significant turning point in the organization’s trajectory.

In 2392, the ARU unveiled the first prototype, showcasing the initial strides towards a Sol design that fully met the needs of the ARUs ongoing mission. By 2395, the Hamield-class had undergone successful deep space trials, and included the introduction of AMOS-I OS.

In 2397, the vessel played a pivotal role in Combined Fleet Maneuver Exercises showcasing its adaptability and operational ability. These accomplishments solidified the Hamield-class Starship as the flagship of the ARU’s fleet, excelling in Anomaly Containment, Advanced Research, Deep Space Exploration, and Escort Duties, and saw the introduction of the SpARTa system.

As the ARU enters the final year in the 24th Century the Hamield-class Starship has emerged as the culmination of relentless innovation and strategic planning. A fusion of ‘Ham’ denoting the robustness reminiscent of a hammer and ‘ield’ representing the protective attributes integral to its missions, epitomizes the essence of this formidable vessel a brain child of the ARU, improved by the specialists from Utopia Planitia and built by Starfleet Engineering Corps.

STRUCTURE AND CONSTRUCTION

==Placeholder for picture link

The Hamield-class boasts a distinctive design featuring a large outer oval saucer section seamlessly connected to an arrow-like substructure. This saucer section integrates four mirrored, angled nacelles on each side, positioned towards the rear of the saucer and serving as the sole connecting points to the overhead modular system. Each nacelle is equipped with a pointed ‘fin,’ strategically enhancing the ship’s aerodynamic capabilities. Positioned at the same level as the saucer section, these fins are angled to optimize aerodynamics, minimizing the ship’s profile and affording it superior speed compared to other vessels of similar size.

Connected to the saucer section is a cylindrical main body, forming the ‘tail’ that extends below the nacelles and aligns directly beneath the rear of the saucer section. The arrow sub-section houses the deflector dish, protruding between two robust pylons within its reinforced shell. Situated below the overhead modular system, there exists a significant gap, and the modular system itself is linked to the nacelles by two flat, hollowed (yet reinforced) supporting pylons.

The ship’s hull armor is composed of a 5cm high-density duranium alloy and plastics, creating a composite hull. Notably, the vessel is equipped with kinetic reactive armor. Deviating from conventional increased hull layering systems, engineers opted for a reduction in overall size and weight while preserving multiple decks. The reintroduction of kinetic armor, reminiscent of technologies from and beyond the 21st century, proves highly effective. Upon impact, the kinetic reactive armor disperses the force outward, minimizing damage. This innovative approach is particularly instrumental against kinetic weapons like torpedoes, sometimes completely nullifying their effects. Consequently, the Hamield-class can endure prolonged durations without shields, with an air-gapped hull layering system proving efficacious against energy weapons, reducing further damage. However, it is worth noting that after extended combat, the exposed inner hull of the Hamield-class becomes vulnerable.

Due to its unique mission, Starbase Hades is the home of the construction, the Starbase houses five dry docks and two large anti-grave chambers allowing for construction of the ships of which so far two have been built.

SCIENCE AND REMOTE SENSING SYSTEMS

The Hamield Class incorporates an array of sensor technology strategically positioned to cover forward, rear, and unilateral perspectives. The primary set comprises Type VIII Scientific sensors, with the most potent cluster featuring seven forward-facing long-range subspace sensors directly situated behind the main deflector dish. This arrangement optimally spans a range of 3.72 light years for high-resolution operations, extending to 13 light years for low-resolution tasks.

== Placeholder for image

Complementing this, a rear-facing Type-VI triangular formation enhances the ship’s sensory capabilities. Positioned to the rear of the overhead module, this sensor cluster provides an optimal resolution range of 2.6 light years and a reduced resolution range of up to 8.4 light years. Remarkably, this cluster operates seamlessly alongside the main sensor module.

The computer system is anchored by a quad-isolinear computer core which supports the use of the developed but not implemented OS system AMOS-I. ARU research and developers decided to reattempt the use of an alternative operating system as they felt that AMOS was a far more functional operating system compared to LCARS and that the steep learning curve identified was a meer attempt to continue to contract the use of MAJEL and LCARS. AMOS also performed 33.6% more efficiently than LCARS and MAJEL making it an easy choice of OS for the ARU, and additionally a training package has been installed into the OS for personnel to learn how to adapt.

As a precaution against potential threats, a separate air-gapped backup consisting of 3 Isolinear Data Cores is in place, designed to thwart enemy electromagnetic and cyber attacks. The transition between primary and secondary cores, during optimal operating conditions, is executed with remarkable speed, taking a mere 500 Nanoseconds.

To enhance versatility and situational awareness, the ship features a holo emitter system throughout its entirety. This system facilitates the deployment of the latest Federation Emergency hologram crew, ensuring the ship remains equipped with the most up-to-date and standard emergency response capabilities.

ARU ships also come as standard with the Emission Tracking System which enables the better function of sensors when tracking anomalies.

WARP PROPULSION SYSTEM

The Hamield-class features a symmetrical arrangement of four nacelles, with each pair serving as a mirror image of its counterpart. Positioned at the same level as the ship’s saucer section, these nacelles act as the exclusive points of contact for the overhead module, firmly fixed in place and certified as subspace safe.

Empowered by the cutting-edge Class-IX Warp propulsion system, the Hamield-class demonstrates remarkable speed capabilities. Its cruising speed of warp 7 surpasses that of most vessels of comparable size, thanks to the innovative modification of hull plating. This modification allows the ship to achieve a maximum sustainable velocity of 9.6, with the capacity to reach a peak warp of 9.975 for a duration of 12 hours. For emergency scenarios, the Hamield-class can push its boundaries further, reaching an extraordinary warp speed of 9.985, albeit strictly for temporary and critical situations. The fusion of advanced warp technology and modified hull design positions the Hamield-class as a standout in its class, delivering unprecedented speed and maneuverability.

IMPULSE PROPULSION SYSTEM

The primary impulse engines of the Hamield-class are strategically positioned behind the arrowhead of the main saucer section, ensuring efficient propulsion. Notably, each section of the vessel is equipped with its own impulse capability, facilitating swift module changes. In the oval section, the impulse engine is located at the rear of the module, while both the arrow and tail sections house their respective impulse engines to the rear of the saucer section. The Overhead module also incorporates two impulse engines at its rear.

During separation, however, the vessel experiences a substantial reduction in impulse speed, limited to 0.15c. This deliberate design ensures stability and control during the process of modular detachment.

Under normal operating conditions, the Hamield-class achieves an impulse speed of 0.25c. This optimal speed is attained in favorable circumstances, showcasing the vessel’s capability for efficient sublight travel. The integration of multiple impulse engines across various sections underscores the ship’s adaptability and responsiveness in diverse operational scenarios.

TACTICAL SYSTEMS

Defensive Shields

== Placeholder for image

The Hamield-class relies on advanced shield technology as a primary defence mechanism against incoming energy weapons, featuring a formidable Type-XI Shield Emitter. This emitter boasts a remarkable capacity, capable of generating a maximum 2419MW Max Graviton load, with an impressive Max dissipation rate of 6.57 x 10^5kWs. The strategic placement of Shield Emitter One forward of the oval section enhances the vessel’s frontal defensive capabilities.

Additionally, the overhead module is equipped with its own shield for when operating detached, which consists of a Type-IV defensive shield array. This array exhibits a capacity, generating a maximum graviton load of 537MWs and a commendable maximum dissipation rate of 1.46x10^5kWs. Shield Emitter Two is strategically positioned in the center of the Tail section, further fortifying the ship’s defences.

Ready Room/Captains Quarters

The ship’s ready room, situated on Deck 16, boasts convenient access from both the corridor and the Captain’s personal quarters adjacent to the ready room. Designed in the shape of an octagon, it offers a spacious and inviting environment for briefings and discussions. Adjacent to the ready room, the Captain’s quarters provide a luxurious retreat featuring a dining facility, fully-equipped kitchen, spacious master bedroom, accommodating guest room, pristine ablution facilities, and a relaxing hot tub for the Captain’s personal relaxation and rejuvenation.

Conference/Briefing Room

The conference room, also located on Deck 16, offers a spacious and well-appointed setting for gatherings and discussions. This expansive rectangular chamber is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including a sophisticated holographic display system, multiple screens, and ample desks to comfortably accommodate up to 20 personnel. It serves as a versatile space for hosting briefings, meetings, and collaborative sessions, ensuring efficient communication and decision-making among crew members.

Main Engineering

Deck 27, 28 and 29 Make up Main Engineering, the Warp core is situated in the upper two decks and has a warp core ejection via a bottom tube. The Engineering department is larger than a typical ship due to the increase in power output created by the Warp core and computer core. The Upper two decks are hollowed out allowing viewing through deck 27 to deck 28, the floor for the catwalks on deck 28 Main engineering are reinforced glass similar to the glass used on the bridge and viewing deck. Main engineering Lower has several jeffery tube access points and is considered the hub “All road lead to “Rome.” Main engineering also has an external access hatch above the top of the warp drive. When the overhead module is attached to the ship there is a matching hatch at the bottom of the module’s warp drive. The two hatches work as a lock and key mechanism. This allows the Hamield class to add the warp nacelles of the module to the main warp drive to increase power. This setup also allows for the module to detach and work as a separate ship when needed.

The Hamield also introduced the ‘machine shop’ this resource would allow the crews of any Hamield class engineering sections to functionally build containment suits on ship without the need to return to Starbase Hades for retrofitting.

Main Science

The Main Science Labs sprawl across Decks 21, 22, and 23, serving as the central hub for scientific exploration and research onboard. These multifaceted facilities encompass a spectrum of specialized laboratories, including astrometrics, sensor analysis, and programmable probe storage, all equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and technology. Additionally, the labs are dedicated to anomaly research, providing specialized equipment and resources for the study and containment of various anomalous phenomena encountered during exploration missions. From conducting intricate astronomical observations to analyzing sensor data and programming advanced probes for anomaly detection, these labs play a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of the universe and ensuring the safety and success of each mission undertaken by the vessel.

Main Security

Security is located on Deck 6 due to its access to the ships weapon maintenance systems and control platforms, the ship is equipped with a Brig and over spill Brig capable of housing up to eight separate cells or one combined cell and 4 small cells. There are two armouries which house a large and varying number of small arms weapons; however when a Marine detachment is assigned to the ship, armoury two is then under the control of that detachment.

Medical Systems

Decks 18, 19 and 20 make up the main bulk of the ship’s medical contingent, the ship has two sickbays, medical labs, and a morgue. The medical locations are able to offer the full range of medical treatment from basic health to obstetrics to specific types of surgery and long term care, but on a small scale.

The ship’s two EMH Mark IV programs can also be run in these locations. Holo Emitters are also placed around the ship to allow the EMH program to operate anywhere there are casualties. EMH is programmed to work only in the triage area of the ship.

Primary Sickbay Five surgical suites with the latest in surgical frames, 2 long term patient recovery rooms, 6 biobeds in the main medical bay. The CMO’s office with the ability to monitor all medical locations in both sickbay, and head nurses station is also located here. As well as medical labs. A small mess hall and ‘overnight’ quarters for medical staff.

Secondary Sickbay (Also known as overflow sickbay and actually larger for combat situations) 5 biobeds in the main medical bay, 5 ICU suites, 3 surgical suites with the latest in surgical frames, 5 long term patient recovery rooms. This is mostly a nurses station unless the primary sickbay is full or the ship goes to yellow or red alert. A small office is located here with food replicators. This sickbay is also attached to the ship’s triage area and is responsible for maintaining the medical equipment and medications for both areas.

UTILITY SYSTEMS

The Hamield class comes with one large primary cargo bay, though smaller cargo bays can be found around the ship, particularly clustered within the engineering decks. Each cargo bay is equipped with a Cargo transporter and industrial replicator.

There are Two Tractor beams operated on the Hamield class, one Aft and one Fore, the main tractor beam emitters are capable of handling a mass of 7,500,000 metric tonnes at less than 1,000 meters. For a mass of one metric ton at the same delta-v, the effective range is 20,000 kilometers. The main tractor emitters use a pair of 16 Megawatt graviton polarity sources, for a total of 32 Megawatt graviton displacement power.

Transporters are sporadically situated through the ship with a total of six normal functioning transporter rooms, two emergency transporters, a cargo transporter for each cargo bay.

The Hamield makes use of an extensive Turbo Lift System however there is no turbolift access to the Overhead module system this is done by using the two hollowed pylons in which a Zero G environment is created, along the walls is a conveyor system of attached handles which you can hold onto as it moves you through the environment. There are also designated points at the base and top of the pylons with integral pattern buffers separate to the main transporter system, the reason for this design is as a result to the overhead module housing the main Anomaly storage and containment sections

There is an emergency stop at either end of the Pylon and each handle has its own integral disconnect, stop and communications switch. The lower half of the Pylon is padded in case of Zero G failure however the drop is only 1 meter. On either side of the Pylon are access ladders/steps for manual walking.

Anomaly containment suites

Anomaly containment suites aboard the Hamield are specialized areas designed to secure and manage potentially hazardous or anomalous entities, objects, or phenomena encountered during space exploration. These suites are crucial for ensuring the safety of the ship’s crew and the integrity of the vessel itself.

The suites are equipped with devices specifically designed for securing, quarantining, and researching anomalies. These units may vary based on the nature of the anomaly, ranging from energy fields to containment pods with adjustable parameters.

Environmental Controls:

Anomalies may react differently to various environmental conditions. The containment suites are equipped with advanced climate control systems to maintain specific temperature and pressure levels.

Some anomalies may require specific atmospheric conditions for containment. Environmental controls include the ability to adjust air composition to suit the needs of contained anomalies.

Forcefields:

Forcefields are crucial for creating a physical barrier between the anomaly and the rest of the ship. These energy barriers can be adjusted in strength and configuration based on the characteristics and potential threats posed by the contained anomaly.

Separate Power Generation:

Isolated Power Systems:

Anomaly containment suites often have their own dedicated power generation systems. This ensures that, in the event of a ship-wide power failure, the containment systems remain operational to prevent any breach or escape of the anomaly.

Containment Devices and Equipment:

Specialized Containment Units:

The suites are equipped with devices specifically designed for capturing, containing, and studying anomalies. These units may vary based on the nature of the anomaly, ranging from energy fields to containment pods with adjustable parameters.

Sensor Arrays:

High-tech sensors are installed to monitor and analyze the anomaly’s behaviour. This data is crucial for understanding the anomaly and developing effective containment strategies.

Isolated Communication Channels:

Containment suites have dedicated communication systems to allow specialists to coordinate and share information without risking cross-contamination or interference with the ship’s main communication network.

Automated Response Systems:

In the event of a containment breach or other emergency, automated protocols are in place to seal off the affected area, activate emergency forcefields, and alert the ship’s security and medical teams.

Research and Observation Facilities:

Containment suites often include laboratory spaces for researchers to conduct experiments and studies on the contained anomaly while maintaining a safe distance.

CREW SUPPORT SYSTEMS

Emergency Shelters

These shelters were introduced due to the size of the ship and the concern that to traverse the ship to reach a considered safe location was not guaranteed, these shelters have reinforced bulkheads and emergency force field generators to protect the inhabitants and are able to sustain life up to 72 hours (max occupancy 50 Personnel optimal occupancy 30) disconnected from any main power. These rooms have 15 bunks personnel will have to stagger their sleeping pattern) and come supplied with emergency rations for 30 personnel up to 72 hours, hydration packs for up to 72 hours for 30 personnel and basic life saving equipment and medical supplies, there are no weapons held as standard in the shelters as these are predominantly for the use during combat to preserve life of non-duty or civilian personnel. Each Shelter also comes with an emergency broadcasting unit which operates on the UHF frequencies often unhindered by modern electronic interference allowing communication between shelters and an aid to locate survivors. In extreme conditions these shelters can survive atmospheric reentry and collision.

Crew Recreation Systems

The Hamield-class boasts an impressive array of holodecks and holosuites, providing diverse recreational opportunities for the crew.

At the heart of the Hamields bustling 13 Forward, a carefully delineated section transforms into an intimate and exclusive recreational enclave. Ambient lighting and a tasteful partition create an atmosphere of privacy, where crew members engage in lively conversations, laughter, and various activities.

Hello, I didn’t see RTF office, for training area unless we’re just supposed to use the gym and holo-decks etc? Also as a request can you split the Chief SEC/TAC office into two offices please and thank you since there’s a Chief of Security and a Chief of Tactical unless you want us on rotation on whom uses the office?

Thanks and a lot of work went into what you have set up I can’t wait to see the pictures etc when all is ready.
