So no passive voice; sorry about that! As for the device itself, I was never planning on its re-enlistment as my character that uses it falls within the timeline before Starfleet canceled the project. It would always be a dead-end project given the lack of prosthetics (beyond the VISOR) in Star Trek, so I wanted to write in a device that could be used for characters in that era or by a GM if desired. I can re-work the idea if you’d like to see it brought back into use, and I would like some clarification before I re-submit.
