The following discussion is a final check over from previous discussions over the past two terms. This discussion entails the synopsis section of the MNP only. Part 2 of the discussion will entail the ship class/type ranges for ships and ‘nerd tech’ numbers of ranges/power output etc of the different systems for the most part unless something counters to canon (unless it was something and that most people don’t care about these values we will keep them as if for those who like the ‘nerd tech’ stuff and for in the ship specifications. To aide in posting i will be sharing a google doc link of the changes for easier viewing. Discussion will run from 9/25/18 until 10/09/18.

1) Added a sentence in the opening paragraphs detailing that any non-standard tech allowed on a ship class must be justified in the review and approved in the review process.

Rob, you say This discussion entails the opening paragraph of the MNP only. So, by opening paragraph, do you mean only the 3 sentences under Synopsis, or do you mean these as well as the writing under Light/Medium/Heavy ship variants as well?

Sorry for that confusion yes I meant the synopsis section. I wrote that part during a multitasking moment of the day with the family and forgot to go back to change it as I had meant too, I have since done that.

Assuming you mean only the 3 sentences under Synopsis (and why not ‘Introduction’ or ‘Overview’?), both the snippet of the old plan and the new plan read exactly the same to me, am I missing something?

You are :) the last sentence in the ‘changed’ v2 says ‘In the end, any non-standard technologies included in a submission would need to be justified and approved in the review process.’ which the current does not have.

Rob, I have snipped the above and then copied the Synopsis paragraph below - firstly the one from =Current MNP - Opening Paragraph/Tech Ranges= and then the one from =Changed MNP V2 Opening Paragraph=. Rob, I then put them into Word and did a word count on them - each paragraph have the same number of words in them (58 if interested). I read them word for word (because it is possible that changes could result in the same number of words in changed versions) - each has the exactly same words in them. The changed v2 that you posted to the EDept board does not say ‘In the end, any non-standard technologies included in a submission would need to be justified and approved in the review process’ in that paragraph under Synopsis. Rob, the opening paragraph in the current and proposed versions of the document that you posted are exactly the same.

Is it possible that you accidentally cut and pasted from the same document twice?

In any case, where do stations etc fall? Is that what you mean by ‘space frame’?

Space frame in this case would entail stations/outposts if I recall right the earlier draft I had of the original MNP did have starship but then it got changed to space frame to include stations/outposts/anything else

One other thing I just removed vs the original post not meant to be there was the 2nd change listing of the tech ranges that was a copy/paste error from my word doc i meant to remove too :\ that’ll teach me to try to squeeze this in during a busy life.
