Academy Report - July 2018

Starfleet Academy Report - August 2018

Overall the department is in good order. Ongoing projects for the upcoming term will include finalizing the mentor’s discussion, posting of the mentor’s policy for the Academy. Anyone interested in mentoring new members should contact me directly at acmdt@star-fleet.com, we have mentors for our academy ships of course, but I’m looking for main fleet ships that permit new members.

I have also commissioned my trusty AFLO, Owen, to create a new set of MOTDs for the Academy. There are a few more projects that might be undertaken shortly, but should be fairly quick to complete.

USS Challenger

Commanding Officer: Ray Branch

Crew Posting Level: 6
Senior Staff Posting Level: 6
Overall Ship Health: 6

Ship Status: The sim is still humming along at a moderate pace. The focus has gone from the mysterious cargo to the nebula, but now it looks as if there’s nothing strange with the nebula. We do have a few LOAs for crew that is going on vacation or taking some personal time.

One cadet was removed for AWOL without a post, and a few more are in danger of being declared AWOL. All DH positions have been filled :) So I’m very happy about that!

Spotlight: Really gotta give props to the entire crew. You’re doing an excellent job with keeping your Cadets busy, while also encouraging them to participate in the main sim.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: Geoff Joosten

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 8

Sim Overview: The Challenger is well on their way to chapter 2, where in our brave crew have taken a pit stop to investigate a nebula on the way. We are on track to complete by the end of September, I believe, so long as the crew doesn’t get too distracted by the red herrings.

Spotlight: Shout out to the CSO. Its a hard job but she is an excellent poster and doing a good job keeping up with my antics and forcing me to answer questions to angles I hadn’t considered.

FComm’s Comments: Overall the ship is doing okay, but we have a full complement of staff on the Challenger which is great.

USS Endeavour

Commanding Officer: Daniel Lerner

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Ship Status: The Endeavour seems to be doing well, despite my absences (which should hopefully significantly change now that my term as President has wrapped up). We currently have two active cadets (with one probable graduation when our sim wraps up shortly, and one who is brand new), two cadets who have joined STF but haven’t posted yet (one due to some RL issues and one is the usual “wait-and-see” if the member had second thoughts), and one cadet who may be removed as AWOL at the time of the writing of my report. So we’re still a bit low in active cadet numbers, but there is a bit more potential for more cadets than the Endeavour usually sees.

As usual, very high-level of posting and RP-ing by the DHs, CNS and XO to serve as valuable mentors for our cadets (when we have them.)

Spotlight: None

Executive Officer: Katherine Dedul

Crew Posting Level: 8
Senior Staff Posting Level: 8
Overall Ship Health: 9

Ship Status: Overall the ship seems to be doing well, everyone seems to be finding some posting opportunities and we have cadets, which is great! Nothing major to report, the ship continues to respond to the chaos that Gene is inflicting upon us.

Gamemaster: Gene Gibbs

Crew Posting Level: 7
Senior Staff Posting Level: 7
Overall Ship Health: 7

Sim Overview: The chapter is coming to a close on this sim. The battle rages in the shuttle bay whose energy discharges threaten the ship should there be a critical system affected. So far only panels and a warp injector were affected - not to mention power in the shuttle bay. Why? Two battling creatures known as the Drachin who have differing ideas on what age they should ‘devour souls’ at - this one or the other in 19th century England. A temporal tunnel in the shuttle bay connects them.

As the ship and crew strive to find a way to contain or defeat the battling creatures whose attention is more on to one another than the crew, two crew have returned back through the tunnel - the chief engineer assisting the temporal agent ‘Hyde’ to try to shut down the tunnel so that a critical temporal event may not happen. To assist, medical and security and engineering are present in the shuttle bay while the bridge tries to cope with the events and assist remotely.

Spotlight: None

FComm’s Comments: Overall the ship is doing well, fully staffed, so the ship is healthy.
