Engineering Department Report: October 2019

Last month, I identified two goals for the department:

(1) Complete the final review of Chapter 1 of USCM.
(2) Follow up with Dockmaster on current status of the position.

For goal (1), the Chapter 1 review is due to end this coming week, so please provide any feedback you might have. Matt and I have received some privately, but we would love to hear more.

For goal (2), I’m pleased to announce that Ben Simons will be stepping into the Dockmaster position for the rest of this term. Matt and I appreciate his willingness to step forward and he is already hard at work solidifying our department records regarding ship/station specifications. Congratulations, Ben!

If you have a planned specification change (even if it hasn’t been put into edict yet), now would be a fantastic time to reach out to us so that we can note that.

The department goals for this month are:

(1) Begin discussion of Chapter 2 of USCM.
(2) Finalize department records regarding ship/station specifications.
(3) Update work started by previous Dockmasters regarding canon ship registry numbers.
