Open items from last report

MOTD: No new updates. (I do not anticipate this changing until next term after the Recommendations project has started.)

Implementing PDept’s work into Exodus: No new updates.

Recommendations page: Pending TECH availability (may be delayed until next term).

New Member Resource Taskforce: No updates since last month’s report.

Placement policy review: This will most likely be an item for the second-half of the term, although I may put in on hold until our placement numbers increase.

Low placement numbers. Unfortunately, the surge in July did not translate into a new status quo for August. Our new application numbers match the trend prior to July (which may suggest that the July surge was related to temporary external factors, such as the new Picard trailer). Because of the July surge, and the fact that most of the cadets placed in July are active, I don’t expect this to translate into problems for another couple of months, but obviously it remains a problematic trend. My recommendation would be to find new, out-of-the-box ideas regarding recruitment, which I have suggested to the exec and CMM.

New ship speed criteria: I haven’t had a chance to work on this much yet since last month’s report.
