How is your ship looking overall? October was a slow month for us. Between my vacation and Ryan having some RL stuff come up, we did not really progress the sim much. However we have started to recover, and the sim is moving forward again.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)?

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.Getting caught back up. Between vacation and a work trip, I’m behind on what needs to be done administering the ship. But I’m back now, with no planned trips until 2025, so it’s time to get caught up and push us through the holidays.

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?Overall, I believe the ship is performing well. The crew has shown commitment and reliability in fulfilling their duties, with only a few cases of AWOL at the time of this report.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?I’m genuinely pleased to see such high levels of engagement from our junior officers. Their active participation and dedication are promising indicators. With the progress they’ve shown, I’m confident that the next graduation will be a strong one.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: Ryan Williams

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: Sim has been slow to spin up mainly caused my a serious disruption in my life. However I think things will start moving again.

The crew is set to meet the main protagonist and see the new tech that they will be deploying. There is also a grand ball that has started that will serve as a social space to have fun with as the sim moves along. The links to the main threads are on the MOTD if you have time.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Sadly know one myself included. I’m not sure if the cadets are not sure if they can step in, so I tried to encourage some toward the incoming guest. Hopefully this month will be better I’m going to try to start forcing the sim forward via the AWOL policy of the JO, if it has not moved forward in half the time i’ll give it a bump. If not then I’ll move it froward with a less than ideal outcome to keep things moving.

FComm’s Comments: Challenger did have a slow month with some DH changes and just real life getting in the way. However the cadets are engaged and the new DHs are doing well. I have no concerns at this time.

The Academy is currently having g a discussion in command about changes to CADET. We had a new CO exam graduate and a new XO mentoree. Nathan has been amazing in helping streamline the Academy static and reference pages and the process for managing mentor requests.

We are still looking for mentors for all ships and a tutor for the Counseling exam.
