Good morning everyone in STF! Today I your lovely presidential CockRoach is coming to you to request anyone past or present who has experience running past STF Awards to please get in touch with him. First if you are willing and capable of helping that would be a big help to me, or if not then any advice or insight you could give in your own experiences running the Awards of any type would be welcomed. Secondly with that said, anyone new or old who has NOT ran any of the Awards in the past but would have the time and interest to learn and set it up with me would also be greatly welcomed!

Running the Awards is a complex process, for those not aware it has become a long standing tradition to hold these awards to highlight over the past year STF’s best ships, posts, members, departments, etc. Formerly these were called the EMMAs but in recent years it was rennamed to the STF Awards. Either way the point was the same to setup a nomination form for everyone to give names, character names, posts etc which then were compiled and voted on with the event itself then in text form in IRC or in these days Discord in the Events channel. The event works alot like the Oscars in a way, the top nominations are named, and then the winner named and given an award for that category (we even got some neato pdf images customized for such presentation to hang on your wall or something!). All in all its meant to be a welcoming time to celebrate the club at large and recognize those who stand out within the club.

Good morning everyone in STF again! I just wanted to post an update for everyone and myself on how things have begun to shape up since I posted this originally.

1) First off thank you to Kate for your insight and advice in running the more recent awards. As well as your willingness to provide further insight and guidance as I and those helping me learn this trade for the club. I know your hand is not directly guiding this but your wealth of knowledge will no doubt prove valuable.
2) Secondly thank you as well to Linds for doing much the same as Kate in giving me her own views and insight to events in the past that she ran. While obviously how you set things up back then is different from now it did highlight some overlapping challenges I think we will face and confirms much of what Kate has said so hopefully between both of you we can lessen or avoid such pitfalls
3) Next I also want to thank Shockrider / Gavin (their nick in Discord), for stepping up to help me out, despite not having any experience in doing the Awards themselves, just like me, I hope together we can put something together that is worthy of praising STFs best! Obviously we got some big shoes to fill but starting this evening and going ahead we’ll be working closely to get this all put together, again no formal time frame but we’re HOPING at the latest do get it all done and rolled out for nominating and voting and doing the event itself by late June if not sooner.
4) Lastly thought it is not that big of an impact, again thank you to Joe for giving me access to the Event material obviously without this resource we could not make this happen at all!
