Good evening everyone! It is I your lovely CockRoach President. First off let me apologize for not being quite as lively or active in many forms as I would have liked to be this term. The long and short is my personal life sucks with family lately and work has just been clobbering me left and right with IT Admin stuff, and lastly I’ve been battling and on/on again bad chest cold/sinus allergies all three past months. But I’m trying to push ahead and get some discussions going regarding current events/issues in the club.

So with that out of the way I’d like to first quote a recent comment I observed from the Personnel Department report recently submitted.

Besides the low numbers of new members joining the group, one area that is of grave concern is the overall status of the ships in STF. While the rosters are starting to look better, there are at least a half dozen ships who are in a very bad state. This includes the Constellation who at this point has no CO, XO or a GM. There are 3 ships as of this report that barely have any green on the roster, and are instead almost completely red. At the current number of members in the club, we need to be taking a hard look on if we can continue to sustain the number of ships we have active. Or if there is valid reason to decommission more ships.

First off let me say I agree, there have been some troubling ships of late. Some of which have come to my attention or notice. To be open ended about this one such ship was the Chernov, which after working closely with the FComm/AFComm and command staff I’m happy to say as of the moment is in far better health then it was two months prior. While it is still lacking a GM every effort its being made to fill that role, but as of right now it can not. The other ship on my radar at present is the aforementioned above Constellation.

So to first open this line of thought I would like to address the Constellation. This ship has been an on/off again feature of STF for ages, going back to the 90s! As a comedy ship it has been a more light hearted affair for many players, myself included both as player and GM for an equal amount of many years in many forms and takes by GMs and CO/XO/Crew of what they consider to be a ‘comedy ship’ in that time.

But sadly as the comment above highlights the ship has been without a GM/CO/XO and for that matter any kind of real active players for many months. I’ve talked some to the Fleet Staff and after consideration my thought is that for the time being at least there is little to no interest of keeping the Connie active within the fleets at this time. As much as I hate to say it, it is my feeling we should decommission it unless something suddenly happens from this discussion in the next day or so.

So unless anyone else any ideas I am likely to consider decommissioning the Constellation, obviously like any ship or idea if in the future enough interest comes up we could always reactive it.
