Membership trends
The trends in changes in membership as of March 1, 2021 can be viewed here. For explanations and cautions about accuracy, please read this post.
Explanation notes: Once a person posts, they are considered a member for the next 30 days. That means that if a person stops posting, they aren’t removed from the membership numbers until the next month. That means: (1) if a new member never posts, they are not counted on this chart, (2) if a person posts once and doesn’t post again, they will be counted as a new member in the month they posted, and then a member who left STF in the following month.
Placements overall
Overall, we saw a significant dip in placements during April, to the point that we actually tested the site to make sure the form was still working.
For April, we had 4 applications, with one being a returning member. All the applications were placed by the Personnel Department.

The Personnel Department has been asked to start tracking how retention might be affected by new members joining our Discord channel. It will take a few months before trends can be determined.
February 2021

Comments
April was a transition month for the Personnel Department, taking over from Dan’s formally never ending reign.
Several things to note:
1 - We saw higher than normal placement times due to the training of Nicole as our new 2nd Assistant Personnel Director. This is due to holding applications for when we were all available to talk through them as part of the training.
2 - We saw a noticeable dip in applications during the month of April. To the point that we contacted TECH to do a test to make sure that the form was still working. For the record it is. After consulting with the CMM, we hope that this is a temporary dip, and that we will start seeing an increase in applications again.
3 - As we settle into the new dynamic of the PDept, we will be looking at the open items list from last term, as well as any new potential items we wish to tackle, starting this month. I hope to be able to present the list of our goals in the next report.
