Elizabeth Michaels was born on Earth to two school teacher parents. She had an uneventful childhood, although her parents pushed her extensively (a B was not an acceptable grade in her upbringing) and they did not provide much physical, mental, or emotional support as she grew up. She became extremely independent and self-sufficient and latched onto the idea of joining Starfleet at a fairly early age. This provided her with a narrow beam of focus and much of her secondary schooling and extracurricular activity was focused on her end goal of making it to Starfleet Academy. She excelled there, choosing to focus on the Security track. Her goal is to command her own ship and she will do whatever it takes to get there, although a strong moral streak keeps her from doing anything particularly underhanded.

Elizabeth (she will never shorten it to any common nickname) is a loner. She tends to engage in activities in her off duty time that would benefit her career; martial arts are her preferred form of physical activity and she can commonly be found in the Holodeck, running through scenarios. She tends to be quiet and extremely reserved. Her emotions are a mystery both to others and to herself.
