SUPPLEMENTAL
While serving aboard the USS Galatea, Buddy Cullum was among the young officers genetically assimilated by the Borg during the Frontier Day Changeling/Borg attack. His ship, was ultimately destroyed, however, Cullum and several other crew members escaped via escape pod. Cullum’s recovery was swift as he had little to no memory of the events that unfolded. Medically, he is cleared to return to active duty.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Buddy may come across as careless and carefree but he is anything but. He shows a strong sense of honor and bravery when it is needed. When it is not, Buddy can’t be bothered. He would rather be having fun or entertaining a crowd than anything in the world. Though his father had hoped his son would become a jazz musician Buddy chose another genre, galactic punk, though I’m not sure whether it is genuine passion or not. Though Buddy is happy and well adjusted, he lacks passion.

SUPPLEMENTAL
Ensign Cullum retains little to no memory of the events that took place during the Changeling/Borg incursion. There appears to be no apparent psychological damage and no lingering effects. Memory retrieval via hypnosis was offered but Ensign Cullum declined. While I hesitate to return him to active duty, there is no apparent justification to prevent it.

CAREER
Buddy was perfectly above average throughout his academic career, neither lagging behind nor standing out. He always did what was expected and not much more. He made good grades and was well liked but was never the star.

Out of the academy, Buddy’s first assignment was as Ensign on the USS Saracen. He performed well and was a completely adequate officer. Ensign Cullum was transferred to the USS Dresden due to routine crew allotment, and again to the USS Galatea. Ensign Cullum and the surviving crew of the USS Galatea were court-martialed as per protocol but were found not culpable due to enemy infiltration. Ensign Cullum was cleared of any wrongdoing and released to Star-fleet medical for medical and psychological rehabilitation.

Overview
Buddy and the Breen emerged from the dorms and mess halls of Starfleet Academy, a chaotic and unapologetic sonic force fronted by cadet Buddy Cullum—now known as Ensign Cullum, Security Division. The band’s unique blend of raw Federation-era punk, experimental rhythms, and Breen-inspired distortion effects made them a sensation among cadets who embraced the band’s offbeat dissonance and anti-authoritarian lyrics.

Their music railed (ironically, of course) against “uniformed conformity,” warp core safety regulations, and replicated cafeteria food. Buddy and the Breen maintained a fiercely DIY ethos—recording their first album in the acoustic testing chamber of the shuttle maintenance lab.

Blending chaotic punk energy with a dash of subspace distortion and an unmistakable anti-authoritarian bite, the band gained cult status among the cadet corps and found a surprising fanbase among Bolian youth, thanks to their experimental sound and sardonic lyrics.
