Background:

Finn was born in 2373 on Earth, in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. He was the youngest of three children from a wealthy family of horse breeders. For hundreds of years, his family had bred prize winning Tennessee Walking Horses and Finn was able to ride a horse almost before he could walk. As he grew older, though, it became increasingly clear that his interests were elsewhere. While his brother and sister learned the ins and outs of the family business Finn was much more interested in singing with the maids or learning to pluck a few chords on a guitar with some of the stable boys. It was one of those boys who first snuck him away from the stables to downtown Nashville where he could sneak into crowded bars on Broadway and get lost in the music scene. Soon enough, he was borrowing guitars and singing at open mics until a bartender or bouncer would figure out he was underage and throw him out. His father was disappointed and constantly complained that he needed to find something to actually do with his life, but finally gave up on trying to get him to want to be part of the business when it became clear that Fletcher and Faith were more than capable.

In high school, he took up cross country and track, mostly to get his dad off his back, but did fairly well at it. It was during this time that he met one of his coaches, a retired security officer from Starfleet who convinced him to try out for the Academy. Finn thought flying around the stars would be a spectacular adventure and signed up for the Academy as a security cadet. He was quick and picked up on the training easy enough, though he was far from a stellar cadet. He graduated from the Academy in 2395 and was assigned to the USS Belle Meade as an ensign. While lackluster as a cadet, he proved to be a dedicated young officer and quickly moved up in the department and was promoted to chief of security on the Belle Meade in 2398, serving in that role until he sat for command training and was ready to take on the role of first officer by 2402.

Physical Appearance:

Finn has wavy brown hair and dark green-blue eyes. He has very prominent freckles across the bridge of his nose and cheek bones, that never seem to fade. He is tall with a slender build. There is a hint of a middle Tennessee accent when he speaks.

Personality:

Finn is a friendly, outgoing type. He tries to find joy in all thing but takes his greatest pleasure from music from classical to pop to bluegrass. His primary instruments are the guitar and banjo, but he is also proficient with a piano and fiddle, and can puzzle through some notes on many others. Vocally he is a tenor and loves to sing. It is not uncommon to find him humming to himself or tapping out a rhythm on a console while he works.
