Physical Description:
Elias Balthazar is of average height for a human. His natural hair is black, but he changes identities so frequently it is constantly changing. His build is athletic and he posses an inordinate physical strength and resiliency, the result of the genetic modifications.
Medical History:
As one would expect for a humanoid who has spent close to a millenia fighting.
Psychological Profile:
Balthazar posseses an almost unmeasurably keen intellect and is extremely cunning. It is unknown what his intelligence was prior to the Eugenics Program, but it is assumed it was above genius.
Balthazar is a master manipulator and long-term strategist with a knack for deception and Machiavellian-like planning. He is vindictive, cruel, and border-line sociopathic. This lies in direct contrast to his loyalty to those he deems worthy, his protectivness of relations, and his magnanimous generosity to those in need.
Subject is best described as ‘A murderous and cruel Robin Hood’.
Biography:
The being known now as Elias Balthazar is estimated to have been born around nine hundred and eighty-five years ago, in (approximately) Earth year 1410. Raised for half a century on the El-Aurian homeworld, he left as many young near-immortals did to explore and learn. His travels took him to a primitive planet with a dominate species called ‘humans’. Balthazar loved Earth and stayed there for many centuries, from the late 1400’s on. In that time, he encountered many prominent humans and befriended many of them. He rubbed elbows with nobility and paupers, intellectuals and simple-folk, people from all walks of life and cultures.
He found the variations in humans amazing, and the differences in their cultures astonishing. It was also here that he discovered his natural aptitude for combat and strategic planning.
Having served in many different militaries throughout Earth’s history, Balthazar enjoyed the fighting. Almost all of his identities made a reputation for themselves as military leaders and strategists… if not criminals of note. One of his favorite ifentities was of a notorious and historically significant pirate during Earth years 1716-1718. It was the last time he ever grew a large, bushy beard.
He was always cautious to keep his nature a secret, however, and used the machinery of warfare to change identities often; being ‘killed in action’ and then assuming the identity of a fallen comrade. He kept up this pattern for many centuries, taking time off from global conflicts to learn and study. In his many identities lifetimes he was a doctor, a pilot, an engineer, an artist, a politician (the only identity he killed off publicly in front of thousands. After all, being President was fun, but he hated New England accents), a detective, a coroner, poet, cat burglar, architect, deep sea explorer, astronaut, brewer, chef and a myriad other careers and callings. But he always came back to warfare… it was a part of him and the thrill of battle was more seductive to hom than any flesh and bone person. It would also be the cause of his most painful transformation.
In the early 2000’s, scientists developed a means to create a human ‘supersoldier’. The program, named ‘Eugenic Project Alpha’, searched for candidates that were preeminent soldiers and specimens… and they found Elias. The program didn’t ask for volunteers only… some subjects were ‘recruited’. Elias was one of them. Unfortunately, no one was aware of Elias’ extraterrestrial nature. Unable to escape, he was subjected to the Eugenics DNA and gene therapy… with results far more than the doctors in charge had anticipated.
The combination of genetic manipulation and chemical restructuring created their desired ‘supersoldier’… but to a degree no one could have anticipated. Balthazar’s El-Aurian DNA was incredibly receptive to the program, and the results were extraordinary; even by the standards of the Eugenics.
Elias’ muscle tissue became incredibly dense which granted him immense strength, more than three times that of an Olympic-level human athlete. His stamina was increased almost exponentially, meaning at high altitudes he could run at a full sprint for over an hour and jold his breath for almost half of that. His ability to take physical damage and recover quickly was also increased. He could shrug off most minor wounds in a matter of seconds. More sever wound took longer, but even they too would heal. A bullet wound to his chest knocked him down, but he was fully healed in under an hour. So too was his El-Aurian longevity extended. It is unknown how long Elias Balthazar can live now, but for all intents and purposes he is immortal. Nothing but the absolute destruction of his physical form could end his life.
A fact that those fighting the Eugenics Wars discovered the hard way.
Elias was very active at this time, fighting along side the other Augments and leading small until of them in operations against their creators. Khan Noonien Singh described him as ‘Wrath Made Flesh’. Balthazar was responsible for some of the bloodiest and most costly losses handed to the human forces battling the Augments.
An… ‘unwelcome’… side effect of the augmentation process was a severe shift in personality. Balthazar became much more ruthless, unmerciful, cold, and dangerous; immersing himself in the darker, more sadistic aspects of his psyche. It is this immersion that allowed him to Cardy out such bloody and costly operations with little regard for lives lost.
When Khan Noonien Singh fled Earth at the end of rhe wars, it was Balthazar who aided the Augments in their escape. Once the Botany Bay was gone, Balthazar simply… vanished.
No trace of him exists after the wars. Rumors of his appearance crop up from time to time, of course. And according to Section 31 and the Department of Tempiral Investigations have extensive files on Balthazar. It was even suspected that he had begun operations again in the recent past, but with the capture of the figure calling himself Elias Balthazar by Star Fleet and Federation Security agents, the files remain in an ‘Open’ status.
