Torgan gro-Khaduk grew up the son of a former Starfleet Marine and a farmer - father having returned home after meritorious service to a wife who would die in childbirth leaving him with the care of the child and the continued successes of the farm in northern North Carolina.

• Childhood:

While not a ‘bad’ parent - Torgan’s father had very little understanding of what it was to be a ‘parent’ so the young man known as Torgan often kept to himself and even in his youngest years attended chores when not at school often having to run to catch the bus or get to school. Life lessons granted by the father figure in the way of comparisons or alternatives - such as when seeing a hint of anger issues and frustration in the youth he had handed over a pickaxe and marked out lines in an empty unused section of field.

“You feel angry, do ya boy? Good. Embrace it. Use it. Every ounce of your frustration I want whenever you feel it to use it for something productive. Take the pick and dig. Follow the lines. Until you feel nothing but numbness and the anger is gone. Dig two feet wide and five feet deep. The next time you feel angry or frustrated - keep at it.” the father explained in a task that would task to milk the anger of Torgan teaching him how to control his anger and frustration in addition to adrenlyne to serve a purpose and accomplish tasks making them available on a moments notice.

The father - intending to teach him about conflict effectively - also had begun at a young age with exercise regimes starting initially with crudely crafted exercise devices that helped with the farming at the same time. Weights that helped with plowing and spreading seed in the course of the work. Running trails that drew out lines for tracking that worked on cardio and mobility. With an established measure for physical fitness underway even in his youngest years Torgan would begin training in unarmed combat measures and fighting styles at least on the basic level.
