Albert

At first glance ‘Albert’ appears to be a Human of roughly average height and slim build. His bland features and slightly receding brown hair would lead an onlooker to believe that he could be anywhere better late 20’s to early 40’s in Earth years old, however, as member of the Organian species, beings of pure light and energy that have evolved beyond the need for physical bodies, but are able to create them for the purposes of interactions with other species, Albert is in fact, although considered ‘young’ by his own kind, many thousands of years old.

Struck by an insatiable curiosity regarding other species in the Galaxy, Albert has chosen, rather than to simply create a body to inhabit in order to observe life in the galaxy, to instead ‘live’ as full a life as possible, immersing and involving himself in organic life and culture, attempting to experience the galaxy and it’s many wonders from the point of view of it’s inhabitants, rather than simply artificially observing as one might microbes in a petri-dish.

Albert will not attempt to hide his nature from those around him as he finds deception distasteful, but he will go out of his way to behave as ‘normally’ as possible and will not openly advertise his true form or capabilities, even in extreme circumstances as he believes that to take action on his part would ruin the nature of his observations and interactions. As such, he lives under a self imposed code similar to that of the Prime Directive, where he will not openly use his powers or vast knowledge to assist the beings he serves alongside, beyond what the capabilities of an organic being would be able to to in any given situation, if even such a course would lead to his own demise.

As part of his project, Albert has chosen to join Starfleet as a method of interaction with as many different lifeforms in as varied circumstances as possible. Starfleet Command and his superiors are fully aware as to his true nature but have sponsored his application in the hopes of building relations with the Organian race. Albert has thus attended Starfleet Academy and graduated alongside his fellow cadets, his Starfleet rank being full and confirmed, rather than an honorary posting.
