Lai Kitrian

Lai is currently a refugee on Oed after a mysterious incident brought her and her romantic partner Akem to the colony.

Lai’s full name is Halai Kitrian. She was born in 2361 in Niraio, Juraya on Tyrellia, but has became abundantly clear after she regained consciousness at Sacred Heart hospital, not the Tyrellia of this universe. She and her partner Akem are from what is dubbed the Mirror Universe. She’s genetically identical to Halai Cosgrove, a former Head of Science and Terraforming on Oed, and while many basic details of their lives are the same, the rest is vastly different and they are very much not the same persons.

Though they look identical, Lai does not have any of the facial tattoos that Halai has.

Distrusting of strangers, her and Akem have said little about what happened to being them here other then they were on the run for their lives and there was a fire fight in a lab with some sort of experiment. Lai was struck with a projectile weapon before her and Akem found themselves in a seemingly identical location, but details were off.

Captain Michael Conrad was on a small station when he ran into the pair and Aken pleaded for medical help for Lai. Conrad put them both into stasis and took them to Oed where they treated Lai at Sacred Heart Hospital. She remained there until she recovered and Social Services gave them accommodations as a part of her release from the hospital. They are pursuing formal refugee status so they can stay on Oed with a measure of protection.
