Shane Flannaghan

Shane was born out in space.
His parents owned and crewed the freighter ship Alcestes. He was all set to follow in the family business until the Dominion War broke out. They had been on a run to Bajor with a shipment of explosive stim bolts, when the warp core started to fluctuate. They were able to get the ship to a planet and set down before they lost all power only to find themselves on a world occupied by the Dominion’s Jhem Ha’Dar. His father was killed trying to protect his family and crew. They would be rescued by the crew of the USS Raven shortly after their capture but their ship would be a total loss. They would be moved from refugee camp to refugee camp until they were able to make contact with Shane’s Aunt on earth.

Shane and his mother would spend the next couple years living with his mother’s sister on earth in a small former mining town of McCune, KS. His aunt believed in limiting their use of technology on their farm so after a couple years of good food and hard work Shane found himself somewhat large and capable. He would enlist in Starfleet directly out of highschool, and spend the next 6 years mostly at the Academy, he found the Academy life much more to his liking then the farming one. He would would spend the first year with a claimed Security Major but switch his second year to Tactical, with a miner in Intelligence. He will command a ship one day and hopefully be there to protect other’s like himself.
