Rebecca “Becca” Ngata

The Ngata family has a long proud history of service in the armed forces of the Federation, United Earth, and New Zealand nation.

Becca’s own father served with distinction in the Star Fleet Marine Corps, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant.

Rebecca grew up alongside her 4 older brothers, who all followed their fathers footsteps into the Marine Corps. Rebecca however excelled at school, both academically and on the sports field where she was a gifted rugby player, her aggression and fighting spirit inspiring her teammates to the New Zealand Nation Schools Championship title. International honours soon followed and at the age of 19 Rebecca pulled on the famous black jersey of her nation, her fathers proudest moment.

A tough, hard man, Tana Ngata was nevertheless a good father and role model, his 2nd proudest day being when his only Daughter graduated from Starfleet Academy and entered service as a security ensign aboard the USS Broadsword.

Rebecca quickly showed the same fighting qualities displayed by her family throughout centuries of warfare, married to an instinctive grasp of tactics and strategy that quickly gained the attention of her superiors who marked her early on in her career as ‘one to watch’.

Promotions soon came her way, rising through the ranks to become chief of security aboard the Broadsword at the age of 24. In this role she married her obvious physical skills to a talent for inspiring the best from others, often leading by example, both in her punishing training schedule and by throwing herself into the thick of any action.
