Jerryd Tass

Family:

Mother: Emella Tass (Chief Medical officer of Deltan Explorer “Askara”
Father: Jaryn Tass (Professor of Xenobiology on Delta Prime)
Brother: Jor’al Tass (Deceased)
Sister: Emora Tass (Civilian Engineer on Delta Prime)

History:

With parents working in the fields of medicine and science; Jerryd and his brother Jor’al joined Starfleet with one goal, study medicine and become doctors like their parents. Both seemed to have a knack for their studies and scored high on all exams. In the middle of their second year at the academy, they were working on an extra credit project on genetic manipulation when a power disruption resulted in a cascading failure in one of the stations they were working at. The resulting explosion critically wounded Jor’al. Tass watched his brother die, unable to stabilize him before a trauma team arrived. Jerryd suffered a few major injuries as well. Rather than allow the med team to heal a long scar on his arm, he demanded to keep it as a reminder.

Taking a year off from the academy to deal with his loss, Tass could no longer see himself as a doctor. He had been unable to help his brother afterall. He decided on Security and Tactical. He dumped everything he had into his new interest and graduated with a major in Security and a minor in Forensics.

Abilities:

As with others of his race, Jerryd has sworn an Oath of Celibacy as per Starfleet’s requirements to join the organization.

He has the ability to reduce the pain of others through simple touch but is unable to heal wounds in the same manner.

Interests:

Preferring to keep to himself during the academy, he picked up painting as a hobby, and dabbled in sculpture as a way to ease his mind. When social interaction is required, he prefers to play the Earth game Poker, which he learned to play from his roommate in his third year at the academy,

Physical Description:

Physically, Jerryd is a prime example of a Deltan. He stands 6‘1” and athletic. He is devoid of hair with chiseled features. He is most often remembered by his eyes which are a striking cobalt blue. He has a tattoo of a medusa head on his right shoulder (he developed a major interest in Greek mythology during his time away from the academy, having a great deal of time to read)

Additional Notes:

Finally, he has a pet ferret that he rescued in his final year. He named her Artemis, again, thanks to his mythology interests. She is sable in color and very lazy but curious.
