Serok

Serok grew up on Vulcan, son of the ambassador to Andoria. His father lived at the Vulcan embassy. His mother stayed on Vulcan to raise their son. It was logical. He heard stories of the deeds his father had done to ease the shaky relationship with the Andorians. Settling disputes of outlining planets. Assuring the Imperial Guard that Vulcan isn’t still spying on them after the incident on P’Jem. His father was considered a great Vulcan ambassador along with the earth ambassador Sarek. Though he admired the stories of his father he wondered why he never visited his son. Those emotions were dismissed through years of purging. He was always told when it was logical for his father to come he would.

When Serok was 14 his father finally did come to Vulcan. It was logical, Serok had come of age. Their meeting was to plan for Seroks future. It was his fathers intention for Serok to be his successor. They set a plan in motion to study at the Vulcan Science Academy. Then spend 10 years as his fathers aid on Andoria. The next phase was to enter Starfleet to gather experience with varieties of other species. Will he become the next ambassador of Andoria?
Tragedy struck as his father was brutally attacked by a group of Andorran supremacists. The Andorian government condemned the attack however it left the ambassador in a vegetative state. The news of this cowardly attack shook Serok to his core. There was no logic in such an attack. He decided that his duty to his family took priority over his commitment to Starfleet. His request to leave Starfleet and tend to his mother and father was understandingly granted under the circumstances. He left the Merrimack and the fleet behind for 70 years when his father passed. Much older and wiser he decided to rejoin Starfleet and perhaps honor his fathers legacy. He was welcomed back and given a quick assignment. Due to the length of his absence he would have to prove himself again at the rank of Ensign.
