Greg Pricer

Appearance: Years of athletics growing up helped Greg Pricer become a tall, muscular young man. He maintained this look by playing an ancient Earth sport known as hockey, despite most of his friends opting for more modern pursuits. He has brown hair which he keeps strictly regulation and somewhat faded blue eyes.

Background: Greg was born into a family of farmers who lived in the DMZ. Like many, they refused to move and ultimately his parents became Maquis. He did too, at least to an extent as he barely turned 10 when things really heated up between the colonists, the Federation, and the Cardassians. He mostly ran messages or supplies around to help out any Starfleet officers who couldn’t be seen bringing the Maquis any support.

That all ended when the Dominion killed almost everyone on his world. He was off-world at the time and a group he was with was quickly picked up by Federation forces. The group leader protected him by lying to Starfleet claiming they had only taken him along as a refugee and not an active Maquis. He was quickly sent to live with his Aunt and Uncle who were Starfleet Officers stationed at DS9 for the duration of the war. From there, he bounced around from starship to starship with them until he was old enough to apply for the Academy.

Philosophy: The one thing that kept Greg grounded and helped him through the trauma of the Dominion attack was his study of an Earth philosophy known as Stoicism. He liked that is calmed him and helped him find his center as he had to grow up much faster than the average kid his age. The first ship he lived on after his Aunt and Uncle were reassigned at the end of the war had a Vulcan security officer. It was from him that Greg learned to control his emotions even more. It was also what inspired him to go into the security field when he applied to the Academy.
