Raal M'resh

Raal grew up on Cait, the only child of a teacher and a civil engineer. He was a good student and as soon as he was able, he applied to the academy. During his training in San Francisco he found that he had an aptitude for Astrophysics, (which led him to focusing on Stellar Cartography and Gravitational Mechanics) and Parrises Squares. (which led him to the infirmary on the regular.) He was bullheaded and stubborn and got a reputation for being argumentative. A reputation that stuck with him through his career, including a rise through the ranks to XO the USS Artemis, a demotion from Commander to Lieutenant for striking a civilian in an argument during an away mission that went off the rails. and back up to Lt. Cmdr. and CSO of the USS Columbia before a disagreement with his Captain drove him to resign his commission. It is worth mentioning that during this time he had married and gotten divorced from M’ressa, who is now a rear admiral. Their children continue to stay in touch with him and he regularly visits them.

He now works as an independent scientist and adviser to starfleet in a civilian capacity. Outside of the strictures of military rank and file he is much better off. His strong will and independent streak serve him much better now.
