Tom walked into his Quarters and set his bags down on the bed. He looked around at what would be his room for the next few months and smiled, Tom had a good feeling about being on board. Things were looking up for him. ‘Right then’ He thought to himself ‘let’s get checked in’. Tom left his unpacking until later, that would wait, he was eager to meet his Department Head and get acquainted with the environment he would be working in. Tom left his Quarters and made his way to Sickbay.

Tom was just about to stride into Sickbay when he paused. He took a moment to stand up straight, pull the Tunic of his Uniform into place and generally make sure he look as presentable as possible - after all, first impressions and all that. He then stepped forward, waited for the doors to slide open and walked in.

Upon entering Tom gazed around the room. This was all terribly exciting! He stood to one side, ensuring his wasn’t in anyone’s way, hoping to catch somebody’s attention.

Suddenly, from around a corner, a woman appeared. She was dressed in the standard Starfleet uniform with the blue medical accents. On her feet were boots with 4” square heels. Around her shoulders was a white lab coat, left unbuttoned, revealing the tailored fit of her uniform pants and jacket that hugged her every curve.

Her skin was pale green and her hair was brown and hung halfway down her back, slightly wavy.

As she rounded the corner, she caught sight of Thomas, and adjusted her steps to come to stand in front of him.

“I’m Lieutenant Marlene Judas,” she said, noticing his cadet pips. “Are you here to check in Cadet?”

As the CMO arrived in front of him Tom gave a short salute. “I am Ma’am, I’m Thomas Buckingham. But most people call me Tom. I’m the new Medical Cadet.”

Marlene gave him a stare. It was difficult to tell if her expression was one of apathy or if she was just scrutinizing him in some way.

“Follow me,” She said, turning on her heel and leading him into the main examination area. There were several biobeds, all empty at the moment. It appeared to be a fairly quiet day here in Sickbay.

“Please, have a seat on one of the beds, Cadet,” the green skinned CMO said. “I will pull up your medical history. Are there any concerns or conditions that I should be made aware of?” She pulled out her medical tricorder, awaiting his response before beginning her scans.

Tom Followed Lt. Judas to a biobed and hoisted his lanky frame up onto it. He was slightly taken aback by the CMO’s curt responses, knowing instantly that this was one officer not to be trifled with. In response to her question, Tom replied “None that I know of Ma’am.”

The woman gave him a slight hint of a smile before starting to scan him.

“You can address me as Doctor Judas,” Marlene said, running the probe of the medical tricorder all around his body slowly.

“What was your main area of study at Starfleet medical?” The CMO questioned her new cadet, as she looked at the results of the scans.
