Cadet Polis acknowledged the Captain’s orders with a nod. Keeping his head low he glanced around the shuttlebay again. In the far side of the room was a type 15 class shuttlepod. It was one of the smaller classes of shuttlecraft generally used for short transport missions or exterior ship maintenance. This gave him an idea. He looked back over towards the Captain and tapped his com badge =/\= Captain, if we can separate that security officer away from the Drachin when they get blown into space, do you think Medical can do anything for him? I have an idea but its a little crazy. =/\=

Cadet Polis, Security

Cain looked over at Polis, he was curious to see where he was going with this as he ducked behind the cover. Aiming he fired a few shots but kept his head down till he heard more from the Captain.

The smaller of the Drachin was thrown aside as a sustained phaser blast struck the larger. It stood up to it but gave way, trying to resist the energy.

However, the smaller of the two seemed to refocus and began moving, if slower, toward the Captain. It stretched out an arm that threw out a series of bolts of energy toward him …

Cadet Polis looked over towards the Captain and seen him duck for cover. “He has enough on his mind right now” thought Polis, “If my idea is going to work I’m going to need to do something right now”.
Polis made a dash for the shuttlepod, keeping low. I bolt of energy shot just over his head as he slid across the last few feet of the floor and took cover behind the the shuttlepod. He tapped the control panel and the door opened. The door was facing away from the battle and the cockpit facing the alien lifeforms. Just that bit of luck he needed as he stepped inside closing the door behind.
Polis sat low in the pilot chair and powered up the controls. He kept low in the cockpit trying not to draw attention. He still needed a few minutes. He powered up the pods magnetic docking controls securing the pod to the shuttlebay floor. This wasn’t generally done within the ship but outside to secure the pod to a ship while the crew conducted a spacewalk. But it was needed now. It was a shame this was only a maintenance shuttlepod, he thought. Phasers wouldn’t go amiss right now but Polis worked with what he had and tapped several other buttons on the display getting ready for his plan.
He tapped his communicator. “Captain, if you can hear me, get everyone out now. I need a 5 second countdown to the shuttlebay being decompressed.” Now all Polis could do was wait.

Cadet Polis, Security

Polis found that he didn’t have much to work with. This shuttle would be a engineer’s toy for a while to get it back to snuff. Power levels were only at 22% and he would have trouble piloting it but the ship was still intact even if the only real LCARS console he was working on was flickering. It might be touch and go …

Meanwhile inside, Aliss tried to keep the phaser on the creature. The trouble was that as it weakened it became more indistinct and she couldn’t get a very good bead on it in the darkness. She missed more than struck it. The second, smaller one, was nowhere to be seen.

The cadet’s original comm signal was missed with the noise of the energy discharge. So he was surprised to see part of the shuttlepod power up, with a security cadet inside. Then he heard the next comm signal. ‘I thought I set out that the plan was to distract the aliens.’

=/\= No, cadet, we are not evacuating the shuttle bay. Letting the Drachin have free reign until then would be disastrous. =/\=

As Johnson said that, he started looking to see where the two Drachin and other officers were…

As soon as Johnson said this the Drachin that Aliss was firing at moved. Her phaser blast struck a tank near a far bulkhead causing an explosion. The bay rocked, as did the shuttle, throwing everyone there back. Aliss tumbled over a low stack of containers, groaning out a ‘not good’ .. while the Captain too was thrown back hitting the deck hard, stunning him briefly ..

For some moments there was silence as everyone there was adjusting from the ringing in their ears or of being thrown back. Had that affected the Drachin too? That was hard to say .. all was silent ..
