Holding her wrist delicately as if to protect it Skye entered sickbay and carefully looked around. Her features were pale and her eyes worried, the sort of expression one tended to find on those who had had a bit of an accident. In Skye’s case, her accident had resulted from a small slip in the holodeck into a river and her wrist had gone crack. She waited for someone’s attention.

Buckingham was sat in his Office when he heard the Sickbay Doors slide open. He immoderately rose from behind his desk and made his way into the main part of Sickbay to greet who ever had walked through the door.
Upon seeing Skye, he calmly walked over and smiled. As he approached he noted the delicate way in which she held her wrist.
“Counselor!” He said by the way of a greeting. “To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?” He asked in his usual affable manner.

Skye looked slightly relieved to see Thomas as he approached. She gave him a sort of sheepish half smile. “I think, I may have broken my wrist.” She said and moving her good hand showed him the swollen appendage. It was turning a nice shade of purple.

Buckingham lent forward and examined the wrist for a moment before standing up straight again. “We’ll soon have that sorted” He spoke assuredly. “Follow me this way and take a seat on Biobed and I’ll take a closer look.”
Tom lead Skye over to an empty Biobed. He held out his arm to help the Counselor support herself whilst she got onto the Biobed.
“Is it causing much pain?” He asked calmly.

Skye sat with Thomas’ help on the biobed and frowned slightly as her wrist twinged. She nodded. “Aye, just a bit.” She admitted and moved the wrist so he could better access it.

Buckingham gently pressed around the wrist area with his Index and Middle finger before reaching into his Lab Coat pocket and producing a Medical Tricorder. He briefly scanned the wrist to ensure that this was a straight-forward break and nothing more sinister.
Satisfied with the information from the Tricorder he closed it and returned it his pocket.
“I’ll just administer some pain relief, then I’ll repair the break” He explained before walking over to a near by counter, which had on it’s surface a rack of empty Hypo-sprays. Next to them was an array of colourful vials of various medicines.
“Might I asked how this happened?” Tom asked lightly over his shoulder.

Skye let him work, quietly observing. She flushed as he asked the question she knew had to be coming. “I was hanging a painting. I stood on my bookcase and it sort of…snapped.” She explained.

“I see” Buckingham smiled. “Well I hope it’s a nice painting”.
Tom walked back over from the counter having prepared a painkilling Hypospray.
“This Hypo will numb the area for a little while, and it should ease the pain a little too.”He explained.
Tom applied the Hypospray and waited a few moments for it to take effected. Out of a near by Medkit he removed a Bone Regenerator.
“Do let me know if you feel any pain or discomfort, won’t you” Tom said before carefully working on the affected area with the Bone Regenerator.

Skye nodded and visibly relaxed as the medication took effect. She watched Thomas work. “Stupid really…I really should be more careful.” She said sadly.

“Well these things happen” Tom smiled.
He worked with the Bone Regenerator for a few moments longer before stopping.
“There we are. That ought to do it. I’ll just check over it with a Tricorder. Then you should be good to go.” Tom Said positively as he removed his Tricorder from his Lab Coat pocket and scanned the area one last time.
“That looks spot on to me. The Pain Medication should wear off shortly. When it does, if you feel any discomfort with it at all, do come back see me right away.”
