Sean almost forgot where his quarters were. To do not disturb anyone onboard he had to walk up and down through the decks, not once, not twice but almost 5 times.
In the end, as all stories goes, a good ending was right behind that corner (almost)
“Oh finally!” He thought “I should’ve asked that Ensign where the heck my quarters were.”
But entering the room, he noticed it wasn’t his quarters at all but the Counselor’s office, a certain Miss Skye.

“Uh-…” he was mourning in front of the woman whose pose was composed and elegant, sat in a beansack “My sorries Ma’am. I’m Sean Knights, new CSO onboard this ship… I have probably confused your office for my quarters! Erm I had an appointment for later so.. ehehe. This is embarassing.” Yeah, really embarrassing.
That embarrassing that Sean blushed red pepper and really didn’t knew what to say as excuse, scratching his nape and making weird faces.

Skye looked up from the book she was reading, in truth people often burst into her office so this was not unexpected. She frowned slightly listening to the man explain himself then raised her eyebrows and smiled at him. “Well you’re welcome to sleep here when I’m not at work but I doubt It’ll be very comfy fir ye.” She said in her Scots accent.

She out the book aside and indicated the beanbags beside her. “But since your here. Why not grab a seat.”

“Oh gosh” he moaned right after. A door after and he would have entered his sweet sweet quarters.
“Since I’m here…” he said with a resigned and almost angry voice - notable for his not existing good manners in doing stuff (and it wasn’t even his fault, everything seemed because the bad luck), he was trying to asset himself as good as possible in the new ship. And great god! It wasn’t this his moment either.

Took a seat, he was taking comfortably the right position in the beanbag: it was love at first sight as he never sat in one of those. The face he made almost was sarcastically funny and weird at the same time.
“Thanks for welcoming me, ma’am, and I really lean my greatest apologies!.” Worried to Miss Skye. Perhaps he was lucky to have found such nice person that wasn’t going to kick his arse for privacy interruption.
But still he wondered why the heck he confused the office’s door with his quarters’ ones? The counselor check, he told in his mind, was to be done anyway!

Skye smiled as she reconsider the expression of beanbag conversation. She waited till he was comfortable and asked. “Do you want a drink or something from the replicator?”

“A coffe. With two sugar tea spoons, If I may ask. Thank you.” He smiled. The manners before everything else. This was what his parents tried to teach him when he was still a young pupil. Elegancy and regality for a member of the royal family, but this life didn’t suited Sean’s character. Still he kept treasure of the good manners from what was his childhood.

“To be honest a lot of people burst in here so it’s not unexpected. If you’re lost however I am happy to help you find your way after we are done.”

“Oh!” He exclaimed “so I’m not the first, ain’t I?” He giggled with posture and leveling the giggle-meter to a decent level.
“Also, I will consider your help, ma’am. I am grateful that the crew is pretty much generous and welcoming.” He said smiling.
Courtesy and generosity were the secondary skills of Sean. This probably would be unexpected to those who doesn’t know Sean.

She listened as she fetched his drink and returning handed him the mug. Sitting with a cup of her own Skye wrapped her hands around the warm beverage and considered the CSO carefully as she sipped the tea.

“So, tell me a little about yourself.” She invited.

“Ahem,” he cleared his voice “I’m Sean - as I already said, and I was born on Earth, Sheffield in the South Yorkshire, Britain. Beside this damn badge I have on my uniform,” he pointed to the golden royal family badge “I pretty much hate royalty and politics stuff. I had always had problems with my family as they considered me the black sheep of the group, but to be honest, what all I needed was my mother support, who nowadays still supports me. I- I consider myself pretty a fish in a tank fulfilled with sharks - I have fear of anything that can harm myself and to be honest I want to leave behind this bad habit. Since I joined Starfleet I’ve already put in danger many crewmen and some died too, all for my fears.”
Talking about it was painful and damn sad for Sean, and as he almost forgot that he was talking to the Counselor, suddenly he self-insulted in every way possible calming down briefly after “yeah… It is a really bad habit.”

Skye listened, her head tilting slightly as she did so. “ ok. Let’s rewind slightly shall we.” She said calmly. “What is it exactly that scares you?”

“Danger in general… I mean, anything that could probably kill me. I know it is in everyone this fear but in me, it is pretty accented and I cannot get rid of it. I get stuck mid-field when something that bad happens. I’m like allergic to potentially deadly actions.” Sean said “C-could I ask some coffe? I forgot to take it this morning…” he asked. To be honest, the only reason for the coffe was to calm himself - Indeed it was like a relaxant for him instead of boosting his energies.
