USS Endeavour
XO's arrival
Cmdr. Flynn MacLeod stepped off the pad of the USS Endeavour’s transporter room and immediately felt the ‘thrum’ of the ship’s engines beneath his boots. It had been 5 years since he had set foot a starship, the last one as the Chief Flight Control Officer of the USS Valhalla.
Now he was back, but this time as the Executive Officer of the Endy, one of the Academy’s training ships. His steely blue eyes scanned the room before finally landing on the two cadets at the controls.
“Welcome aboard the USS Endeavour, Commander.” The young man’s salute was clean and crisp, as it should be when addressing one of the command officers. “Cadet Dooley will escort you to your quarters and then direct you to the briefing room to meet with Captain Rixon regarding the ship’s new mission.
“At ease, cadet,” Flynn drawled, a distinct Texas twang to his words. “I’ll find my own way. It hasn’t been that long since I’ve bee on a ship. But you,” he said, tossing his duffel bag in the direction od Dooley, “can deliver that to my quarters.”
With that order, he left the transporter room and aimed himself in the direction of the briefing room.
