The battling creatures separated abruptly as one landed some unseen blow. Lightning flew as the combatants were separated and one emitted a guttural cry of victory. It was only increased when the phaser strike struck the other. “Now … “ it said, though it sounded .. weary .. yet even so sent a swarm of lightning energy up to the ceiling that caused the ship to shake.

Meanwhile .. the two, Hyde and Ang, disappeared as they reached the area of the temporal tunnel.

“Where ..” the Drachin said, “No, they cannot ..”

Cain watched, stunned and unsure what he was seeing as he stood up

Ang helped Hyde through the gate and bit her lip as his weight began to be felt. As the moment of disorientation passed, she glanced around to see where they had ended up. “Ok, where are we and where are we going?” She glanced around, shifted Hyde’s weight so they were both a bit more comfortable, and bit her lip once more. She fought the urge to look back thru the portal behind her they had come thru. She didn’t want to see the shimmer of whatever was transpiring back on the ship. All that mattered was saving it.

Cain made his way with the Cadet Polis from his office, getting into the shuttle bay they had rushed to trying their damndest to get there in time as he found a sight to behold. He wasn’t at all certain what was going on, this was certainly like none other he has expected.

Cadet Polis stepped through the doors and looked around the shuttlebay. It was only a brief look as a bolt of lightning shot towards him and the Chief. Polis dived at the Chief pushing both of them behind the standalone shuttlebay control console. The lightening past inches over their heads. Polis looked around the console at where the lightening came from and could see an alien lifeform. To the left of the room he saw a starfleet officer. It was the Captain. He was taking cover himself. Polis looked at the Chief hoping he had a plan.

There was a sudden shower of sparks and energy as the allegedly defeated creature made a lunging attack on the other. They clashed. Lightning flew. “No, you fool!” came the words from the defender. Off balance or simply seeing the battle shift in location, the two Drachin battled closer to where security was and where the force field was.

They struck it; their bodies oozing sparks and bolts and the force field in turn exchanging energy. Suddenly there was a flash. The force field went down in a discharge of energy. For a moment it was quiet. Where the two Drachin were all could see misshapen balloons of faintly illumated energy - that shape coming from some residual charges and sparks.

Where the chrono tunnel was, in the darkness, a faint glow as well that might more resemble a spider’s nest.

Desire not wanting to turn, the energy discharge from the creatures colliding with the force field made Ang glance behind her. She couldn’t tell everything that was happening, but knew it couldn’t be good.
“We have to hurry!” She said as she readjusted the man she was supporting and looked around to try and figure out their next step.

Cadet Polis glanced around the console and seen it was clear. He stood up looking around in near disbelief. “What in heavens name happened here?” The question wasn’t directed at anyone but he still kinda hoped to find out.

Cadet Polis, Security

Polis didn’t have much time to wonder, but, out of the corner of his eye he could see two large ‘shapes’. In the mostly darkness of the shuttle bay they appeared to be battling; a dim glow could be seen around what might be limbs and body, and that accentuated by sparks and bolts. One such bolt shot out and caught a security NE just next to Polis sending him flying through the air to land on the deck out of sight.

Somewhere ahead of him was the captain, phaser in hand. Behind was the CMO attending to a wounded crewman and the CE. More bolts shot out as the two creatures clashed. Polis was tackled from behind by a figure; NC Aliss, an engineer - a bolt shooting right over them where Polis had been a moment before. As she rolled to the side away from Polis, she said, “We can’t let them go back through the portal.”

Polis lookes at engineer Aliss and gave a nod of gratitude. He should keep his head down until things are safer, he thought. “What are they?” He asked Aliss. “Where did they come from?” He had a quick glance around the room again to see how many humans were there and then looked at Aliss again. “What about evacuating everyone and decompress the shuttlebay? Blow those things right into space?” It was a crazy idea but it was the first one to come into his mind.

Cadet Polis, Security

“Well, so much for containment,” Johnson muttered to himself as he saw the forcefield go down. A nearby blot blast caused Johnson to duck for cover again. He was not close enough to the other officers to hear what they were saying, although he assumed comms were still operational. The problem was they needed a plan. Give enough time for Hyde and Ang to do what they needed to do, while protecting both Earth from these aliens, and his ship from becoming collateral damage. Keeping the Drachin fighting each other was causing too much secondary damage to the ship. They needed more help.

“How can we help?” Cain asked as he came forward.

As the crew regrouped the two Drachin were at odds. One, the smaller one that had nearly been defeated earlier by the larger, was intent to keep on with its fight. The other, seeming to realize a problem with Hyde and Ang going through, was struggling to get past it to where the glowing circle of the temporal portal sat. One moment the larger pushed the smaller away and moved on to get to the portal.

Mostly there it was suddenly tackled by the smaller in a shower of energy. They rolled off to the side to tumble against a shuttle. “Alyss looked at the fight and pulled out her phaser. In the dim light she waved it at the security group there. “Unless you have other ideas,” she said, and fired at them - energy meeting energy and sending out a discharge that lit up the shuttle.
