Settling in at a small high top table, Kaylee let out the sigh that she had kept under wraps for the past several weeks. Her posting on the Endeavour had been a whirlwind so far, initially assigned as the ship’s counselor and then quickly promoted by Starfleet to the first officer for the second time in her career. She had known that her tour as counselor would be brief; Starfleet had indicated it would only last as long as it took for another first officer posting to be made available, but it truly had been an exceptionally short amount of time.

Reaching behind her, she tugged out the clip that held her dark blonde hair in a twist on the back of her head. A small shake of her head allowed her wavy hair to tumble down her back and she ran her hands through it several times, enjoying the slight massage it gave her scalp. The trademark black eyes of her race made eye contact with a nearby server and, with a pleasant smile, she ordered a glass of pinot noir. It appeared by her side moments later and she swirled the red liquid slowly around the glass as she studied the various groups of cadets and officers in the lounge.

Cmdr Adrie, XO

Kai was the first to open the door of the Nine-Forward. When those were full retracted in their compartment, with a hand gesture he greeted the three to get inside before him. Following the last of the group, he looked around as it was the first time that he entered the pub: when he was onboard his father’s ship, the entrance in the ship pub was restricted to him.
“Well, let’s take a seat.” Affirmed.
It took a while, but after an accurate selection, Kai saw an officer in the northern part of the local, sitting alone while sipping a red and amusable drink. He would walk toward her and sit in the chair of the nearby table, while asking, still unconscious of her role onboard, to Mr. Paron who was that amazing woman.

OOC: Thanks for the invitation! We assure we’ll just drink non-alcoholic drinks ;)

Cadet Kai O. Kingstone - Scientist

Paron looked over briefly to who the cadet was pointing out, seeing the Commander sitting there. “Well, that would be Commander Kaylee Adrie, she is the Endeavour’s first officer,” he said to the cadets with him, as he entered and gave a slight nod to the commander. “Let’s find a seat shall we?” he said, heading over in that direction “Don’t worry, she won’t bite” he said just loud enough that Kaylee would hear him as he smiled in her direction.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Kaylee overheard the Chief of Security explaining who she was to the cadets he came in with, taking a slow sip of her wine that she had to spit back into the glass to keep from inhaling when he got to the part about her biting. Snickering slightly, she hid behind the wine glass as she listened to the trio chat for a few moments…

Oliver immediately blushed of embarrassment and looked away, searching for the safety of her sight. Never thought that she was the First Officer and for a moment forgot to be onboard the ship.
“Argh. Ehehe, thanks Mr. Paron.” Told back to the CoS.

When everyone sat down to the table a gentle waiter came. “Welcome to the Nine-Forward, what drinks can I bring you, today?”Asked with formality the old waiter.
While the others were thinking about what drink to take, Kai already knew what he wanted, and after a split second he replied: “a Chinotto, please.” With a big smile stamped on his face.

Dominic had walked into the room looking around he saw some people in nine forward trying to ignore the possibility of there being alot of people in one area. He never understood why he get cramped in every place but the sickbay. Maybe it was because he was focused on keeping someone alive

Once Dominic spotted Paron and kingstone he walked over to them. Sorry for being a little late sometimes I get lost in my head and forget what I’m doing. It’s not often I do this....” he said as he sat down with the rest of them.

“I think the Commander and Lieutenant will agree with me, the times off-duty can be just as important and fruitful as the times on duty on a ship. The ship becomes your family. You see them every day, work with them, and face all sorts of different challenges with them. It helps us all work together better if we are able to understand and socialize with each other,” Torias responded to Dominic with a slight smile. As the waiter came over, Torias thought about the drink he was going to order. Not sure if the recipe for Balso tonic had been added into the replicator banks, he thought he would see if the Endeavour had them available now. “Don’t suppose we’ve added the balso tonic to the replicator database yet?” he asked with a cheeky smile. He hadn’t had it since his time at the syndicate - everyone that was a candidate to be joined found the medicinal features of the drink alleviated pains from a hard day of training.

“Unfortunately, the replicators still can’t produce that,” the waiter responded with a friendly tone. Torias sighed with a slight disappointment, but his overall jovial demeanor didn’t change. “Not to worry, I’ll just take a cucumber juice then,” Paron requested, having no issue with his first choice still not available. The flavor was similar, though nowhere near as sweet as the tonic drink.

K’Resh plonked herself down in a chair as she nodded to Paron. “I’ll get right on it, I have a few amendments I wish to make to what the replicator has done to the Klingon menu anyway, send me the recipe and I’ll program it in for you,” she said as she considered what to order herself. Given the shockingly tragic Raktajino she had been served earlier, she steered clear of the Klingon repertoire until she had had chance to review the recipes. “I’ll take a prune juice…” she concluded as she looked around the table.

“So, how are you both finding the Endeavour so far?” Torias asked the two cadets, while waiting for their drinks.

Dominic smiled looking towards Paron and said “I’m enjoying it on here. It’s actually exceeds my expectations” Dominic smiled and leaned against the back of the chair relaxing

“So far? As expected, Mr. Paron. Surely I have not that attention I had on my father’s ship. I mean, all the crew knew me for my goofy and happy attitude.” Giggled
“But… finally I have the opportunity to work as crew of one of these beasts.” Completed his sentence looking the shiny metal of the pub. Then, leaning on the table and crossing his arms toward the Lieutenant he asked: “What was your first ship you were assigned on, sir?”

Bringing her glass of wine with her, Kaylee scooted down to join the group, giving them a friendly smile to put them at ease.

Torias listened as the cadets spoke about their experiences so far. “It is a different experience being an officer on one of these ships. You don’t see as much of the ship until you start working,” he smiled. “My first posting was the USS Valiant, served on board that ship for a couple of years. I enjoyed it, the crew was good, but my chief recommended I took this position, and so - now here I am,” he said with a smile. “Lieutenant, Commander, how about you?” he asked the XO and CE.

Taking a slow sip of her beverage, Kaylee looked lost in thought for a moment as her mind raced back through her Starfleet career. Her lips curved up into a happy smile at the memories, but she soon returned her attention to those looking at her expectantly around the table. “My first posting was Starbase 202,” she finally responded. “I spent quite a while there as part of a diplomatic attachment before a tour as a ship’s counselor, a first officer position, and then coming here as counselor and then first officer.” She grinned slightly and added, “it’d take me a lot longer to go through my entire career than the young Mr. Paron here.”

Dominic smiled listening as he looked towards Commander Adrie showing quite a bit of interest in starbase 202. “What was it like at starbase 202?” He asked showing much curiosity on the subject he was always fascinated in hearing about other ships, starbase and others experiences in space.

K’Resh nodded her head to the XO in respect and made a mental note to check in with her properly later on. “My first assignment was the USS Michigan,” she said as she thought back to how awkward she had found it initially being the only Klingon on board.

While they were talking, the old waiter came back with the drinks on a serving plate. “Here you go!” Smiled to the group, laying down the crystal glasses fulfilled with liquids of various tastes.
When he left, Kai thanked him and took his Chinotto sipping it looking around.
“I’ve never been on a starbase, before.” Said “Also, what Class was the Michigan, Lieutenant?” Referring to K’Resh, curious about the ship.
