After a long day of work, it was time for Kai to relax, and what was better than some healthy sport?
Arrived in front of the holodeck door, Kai was creating the new program that he would use for when he needed to a distraction. “Computer” stated “I want a program where I can practice Archery. Possibly for the landscape, some alpine region.” After thinking for a moment about what else to put in the program he continued: “Set the time around the sunset. Fresh air, not too much, and a practice range with 4 couples of targets at 10, 20, 50 and 75 meters from the shooting line.”
The computer, with its feminine voice, advised a couple of seconds later, that the program was ready. But Kai was not satisfied: he wanted a valuable opponent to play with.
“I guess someone will join.” Said to himself.
Tapping his commbadge, He was shy to ask someone to join him.
=^= Kai here… erm.... If someone wanted to do archery with me, you can find me in the holodeck 2.=^=
Would someone join him? He did not knew.
But in the meanwhile that he waited for a companion, he entered the holodeck and looked around. Everything was like he thought. The alps in the background and a rich plain in the surrounding. The sun was going down, leaving in the sky an orangish and yellowish color; the wind was just right to refresh his face and the practice range was clear and without any sight obstacle. Behind him there was a table, having on top two sets: two aluminum bows, two leather quiver, and 40 arrows, 20 for player.
He was impatient to start, and after taking one of the sets and donned the quiver, he immediately started shooting at the 10 and 20 meters target in preparation of a possible challenge.

OOC: mind if I join? So it’s not lonely?

As Torias finished his last bit of paperwork for his shift, he heard a call over the general comms about archery. He hadn’t played for some time, but he always liked to use those games to always hone his own skills with other weapons that were more modern. =/\=Paron to Cadet Kingstone, Sounds fun cadet, mind if one of us officers come along?=/\= he asked before leaving his office. He didn’t want to intrude on some cadet social time if that was the intention, after all.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Kai was shooting his 17th arrow when he heard the badge chirping
=^= Cadet Kai to Paron, Of course Lieutenant! Reach me in the holodeck 2. I’ll wait for you=^= happily told to Mr. Paron via communication.
Sighting for the relief that someone would join, Kai ran to the targets and took the arrows, placing them back in the quiver. Then after returning behind the shooting line, would wait Mr. Paron arrival with patience.
“I wonder if Lieutenant Paron knows how to shoot with the bow.” Smiled at the Idea.

OOC: Of course you can join. We can set the program to generate a new kit so we can do archery in three.

A few minutes later, Torias arrived at the holodeck still in uniform, he entered and nodded towards the cadet. “Cadet Kingstone, looks like quite the program you have set up here,” he said with a small smile. “I will admit I have multiple motivations to be here, of course - the history of defensive and offensive weapons in many culture’s history is worth noting, and well - I do want to see how good you all are, lets just say I’ll be taking part but also here observing,” he said, a little more seriously. “Taking advantage of a situation when one presents itself, if you catch my meaning,” he added, again in the more friendly, smiling tone.

Lieutenant (J.G) Torias Paron, CoS

Dominic had made his way to holodeck 2 he had actually only every used a bow once when he was extremely young he remembered how it worked but he wasn’t that good. Once Dominic made it to the holodeck he had entered to see lieutenant paron”oh. I’m not interrupting anything am I? I heard over the comm that there was some archery happening here.”

The arrival of the Cadet Dominic, surprised Kai that expected only one person to come. He welcomed him and said to the lieutenant: “Yeah I understand what you mean. The computer prepared only two sets, but I’ll ask to make a new one.” Smiled openly.
After ordering the computer to make a new set, immediately a new bow, quiver and arrows were materialized on the table.
“Dominic, Lieutenant, have you ever used a bow before?” Questioned to both of them, as he lined up perpendicular to the shooting line and preparing a new arrow to be shoot, taking it carefully from the quiver.

Dominic relaxed some as he watched the archery stuff change appear “I shot one off when I was really young I vaguely remember it.” He said as he attempted to recall the memory as much as possible.

“Oh” Said surprised Kai, while after a deep breath of relaxation he was already pointing the bow and the arrow toward the 20 meter target.
“I guess you will need and arm protection. The bow string usually bounces back when returns in the resting position and might hit your arm, leaving a painful red concussion.” Smiled and giggled jokingly.
After said those words, Kai was stretching the string. His face became serious and his concentration was at its pitch point. Then after looking straight at the yellow zone of the target, and measured the necessary adjustments for the wind flow direction and parabolic trajectory, the Cadet released the string and the arrow flew the 20 meters in less that 1 second, hitting the center of the target.
“I had practiced it a lot. So protections are not necessary for me.” Told both of them with proudness.
“How about you Lieutenant?”
