“Oh, not long at all, just a few weeks. Just long enough for a lot of the new senior staff to make their way on board.” Liadra rested an arm on the table before her and smiled. “What sort of science do you like? ” She had a Doctorate in Psychology, herself and while many people seemed to dismiss the ship’s counsellor as a non essential position, she viewed herself as a scientist in problem solving mode.

“I specialize in Astrophysics, academically speaking by a near doctorate.” She had under a year of schooling to finish, digitally, before she would have it. “However, I would have to say forensic science is a favourite, but all are quite enjoyable.” She nodded, “What about you, Counselor? Do you prefer Psychology or Psychiatry? Or do you have an obscure favourite beyond what you’re known for?” As a scientist, Eshrallias had reverence for most people in the science realm, if they deserved it. Knowing Liadra was a Counselor, she could only assume she had degrees in it.

“I see myself as a social scientist rather than a medical professional, strictly speaking, but I still believe all health professionals function in tandem. But I started out in pre-med, actually. I just found psychology fascinating and studied social psyc at first and then Exo-psychology for my advanced degrees. I suppose I could always go and get a medical degree if I wanted to expand into psychiatry, but I figure I’ve got a good century of work to do before I worry about switching,” Liadra said with a laugh. “Because I also am intrigued by behavioural genetics, so I guess at the end of the day I could just study a little of everything and be content.”

“The best kind of people are the ones who are always students, Counselor.” Eshrallias remarked, offering a faint smile. She found that the Cousnelor had a lot of options to choose from and wonder if, in the future, she would ever execute any of them. “You have a long life ahead of you.. I’m sure you’ll find yourself able to get that medical degree, at some point, if you ever wanted to have it on hand.”

Liadra gave an extra wide smile to that. Indeed, it made her immensely excited to think about all the many things she could possibly do and knew she was hardly limited in those options. “What about you? If you could go and study something else today, what would you study and why?”
