Cadet Kanto peered up from the tricorder and arched an eyebrow. “Fascinating. Perhaps I could try a different tactic. Would you be opposed to a mind meld?”

Rexar could yet feel the ‘buzz’ and ‘draw’ of whatever it was, yet Kanto’s instruments seemed deaf and dumb. Were Rexar to find an emotion to define the ‘cloud’ at this time it would be curious amusement. Yet even that was uncertain, here one moment and then gone again.

Ang would easily be able to find the quarters of those who were along as replacement crew for the SeaHawk.

OOC: Lets go with a new thread on this one. The QM group are there but quickly you’d find they know nothing but that they are sealed crates.

“I can feel it now. It seems like it is aware of me, or it wants me to be aware of it.”

Searching erratically yet with a patience in his movements. Rexar attempted to gather further the essence of this energy to maintain a connection rather than continue struggling with his known misunderstanding of whatever presence was nearby.

Whatever it was it danced about at the edge of his perceptions. Both Rexar and ‘it’ … was like each being a track on a train … parallel in some fashion but not touching.

Standing back from the containers, he allowed his antennae to freely express the force of the presence through themselves instead of controlling the channel of emissions he was receiving.

As Kanto spoke, Rexars’ chin snapped towards him as his eyes fell down to a scowl. A great skepticism washed over him when the Vulcan uttered, mind meld. He’d heard rumours and hearsay of an ancient Vulcan ritual by that name and it sounded nothing scientific by any means. He would not allow such an ignorance to hinder a task but he would never subscribe himself to anything he didn’t understand or at least feel comfortable with first.

“A mind meld? What’s a mind meld and what does it involve? Is there a procedure for it? Do we need to inform the Lieutenant?”

“Essentially,” Kanto began, “The Vulcan Mind Meld is a sharing of thoughts. We would bridge ourselves telepathically in order for me to make direct contact with the entity that you feel is inside you. If you would prefer, we could inform the Lieutenant so that there is an unbiased third party observer to help break the contact if there are any issues that arise. I assure you that I am well trained in the technique and would not probe any deeper into your thoughts than the entity. The mind meld is not inherently dangerous, but I need to inform you that while we are under you must not resist in any way or it could become extremely so.”

The Vulcan was unsure if the other cadet would be willing to join minds, but he made his case and it was up to Omtala now.

Ang went to the console pedestal by the door and began tapping out an inquiry to find the ranking person of those slated as being transferred to the surface. She needed to know who was in charge of the cargo.

Once she found them, she sent a message for them to come to the cargo bay so she could settle this once and for all.
