OOC: No problem! Also, I apologize for the gaps I’ve been posting in, but work has been pretty crazy lately, and I haven’t had as much free time.

Liadra leaned forward slightly and gazed at him intently. “You say it will be some time before you go home and purge your remaining emotion. What if, as an experiment, you not apologize for having emotions and simply allow them to occur and then in turn observe them in others as not something detrimental, but perhaps something useful to that individual. You say you are conflicted, and that not recognizing the subtleties of emotions in others creates issues. So… what if, you simply get curious about emotion and seek to learn how others experience it in their own lives. Then, you’ll connect socially with others and have a chance to make informed decisions later on. Maybe you’ll definitely want to finish your emotional training, or maybe not. Whatever your decision is, let it be your decision and not the expectations of others.”

“That,” and Kanto arched an eyebrow thoughtfully, “is a very interesting tactic to approaching the situation. I will definitely consider it. I may have just been content with my father’s wishes and the expectations that brought to my plate. While I do believe that the Kohlinar is something I will finish in the future, I am not against attempting this area of study. An experiment, if you will…” At this, there was a hint of a sparkle in the cadet’s eye, barely perceptible to the casual observer. The counselor would definitely pick up on it.

“I will take you up on this, Counselor. An emotional study that will allow myself to be less ill at ease with my shipmates and they with me. Fascinating, really. Thank you for suggesting it.”
