Pick a beach scene you like and I’ll set up the rest.=/\= In truth, Liadra was quick nervous to be doing this sport again, even if it was on the holodeck with safeties. After all, when she had first taken up hydrosailing she had thought herself if not invincible, than certainly not in any great risk. It was perhaps her first real taste of life outside the confines of her home and family and she had learned about her thirst for adventure and her boundaries on risk.

An hour later Cain made it to the holodeck, looking around and checked to see if he was early or not for Commander.

Liadra arrived just behind him with a cheery grin on her face and then looked it around, her expression slipping into some mild confusion. “So, what beach scene are you going to pick?” she asked, surprised he hadn’t done that already. But she needed the setting so she could could set them up appropriately. After all, the type of beach and water they were going out on would determine a few other things.

“Well… I am unsure. What is… easy? Or nice? I don’t know which I would pick.” Cain said, not sure which he should pick to begin with.

She laughed. “I’m hardly the expert. But I would say that if we opt for a cove and warm water it will be less rough water and warmer when we fall in. Since we will fall in. Or at least, I will. For all I know you will have incredible balance and spatial awareness and stay on your feet n matter what.” She was definitely amused and had a feeling that no matter what happened, this would be a rather fun little experiment.

“I mean I try to keep good balance but… I don’t know about this. I have trained myself to be surefooted as I can, so this can become a test.” he said with the faintest of smiles. He wasn’t one to show too much emotion but he did find the activity to be something he would enjoy. “If I fail well then the company can always be a good thing too.”

“Good answer,” Liadra said with a laugh. “Alright, come on, let’s do this.” Tapping her fingertips together for a moment, she went through her options and then had the computer generate a cove that opened up into open water. The water was warm and comfortable, so no need for wetsuits. It was lightly cloudy so they didn’t have to worry about too much light reflection off the water that would blind them. Wind speed was a moderate 20 kilometres per hour (a little under 11 knots) and suitable for the small hydrofoil sailboats they were going to be using.

“Okay, computer, generate two hydrofoil sailing dingys tied up at a pier and ready for sailing.” Before their eyes the two boats appeared. Liadra grinned at Cain. “So, we each get one and there’s a seat inside, You basically sit in the boat and use the attached lead lines to adjust the sail and change your direction. With the given wind speed, we’ll probably top out at 10 kilometers per hour, so a perfectly safe speed to be sailing at for beginners. What do you think?”
