“Oh! Hello.” Eshrallias turned to face the Counselor, surprised by the sudden entrance she had made. Although, her greeting was not at all unwelcome. “How are you, Counselor?”

“I’m very well actually. Been a mostly good. How about yourself?” Liadra asked.

Johnson arrived shortly afterwards. He took a look around, nodding at the setting: the chair and tables were more clustered to one end, leaving a large open space near the windows, showing part of Earth below. He walked over to Liadra. “I think we’re just waiting for everyone else to arrive.”

-Captain Johnson, CO

The counsellor leaned in towards Johnson. “I can think of one possibility for this event, but I might need some confirmation. Is it what I think it is,” she with a slightly comical waggle of her eyebrows.

Lt. Cmdr. Liadra, CNS

Johnson raised his eyebrows. “A little guessing is good for the soul,” he said with a grin.

Eshrallias managed to raise a brow between the seemingly enigmatic pair. However, she did not bother to question their choice of conversation, the faint catch of Liadra’s wiggling eyebrows, enough to elicit a facetious concern within her mind.

Keena chose that moment to put in appearance, stepping into the room, “Everyone,” she greeted with a smile.

Cain arrived as he looked around seeing a small smattering of crew he had come to know. He hadn’t been on the ship for very long, getting to know a few people here and there. He was excited for a chance to mingle some, it often gave him a chance to break out of shell but he seldom made the first move in chances like this.

Buckingham strode into Nine Forward. Slightly apprehensive at being in a room full of senior officers, most of whom he’d never met before. Nevertheless, he found an empty chair and sat in it.

Cadet Polis entered Nine Forward. There was quite a group starting to form. He seen the Captain, Chief of Security, the Doc that treated his arm and a few others he hadn’t the pleasure of meeting yet. As a cadet he wasn’t going straight up to the Captain. Beside he was speaking with another senior officer. The Security Chief had just approached a small group. It wouldn’t be polite to jump in on the end of that. Polis figured as he owed the Doc a drink for doing a great job on his hand, thats where he would begin. He went to the bar and ordered two syntahols. He took them over to Tom and offered him one. “Told you I owed you one. Mind if I join you?” He asked, adding, “Us Cadets need to stick together. Before you know it we’ll be officers and will be expected to know everyone by name.”

Captain Johnson headed over the large windows, tapping his glass to get everyone’s attention before putting it down on a nearby table. He waited for the noise to die down. “Hopefully any stragglers will be able to join us shortly, but it is time to get started.”

“Cadet Polis, front and centre,” the Captain ordered.

After the cadet joined him up front, Johnson continued. “I have received a a new communique from Starfleet Headquarters and the Academy Commandant. In light of your ongoing contributions during your time on the Endeavour, and the bravery shown in the face of adversity during recent events, Cadet Polis is officially graduated from Starfleet Academy.”

Johnson looked over at Commander Vahl and took the small box his Trill XO had with her before continuing. “Further, you are hereby commissioned as a Starfleet officer with the rank of Ensign and assigned to the USS Odin.”

With one hand, Johnson handed over the box containing the new rank pip and with the other hand shook Polis’s hand. “Congratulations, Ensign!”

-Captain Johnson, CO

Ezio Polis stood in front of the Captain. He was flabbergasted. He took the box containing his new rank insignia in his left hand feeling the nerves tingle as the painkillers were wearing off. He excitedly shook the Captains hand with his good right hand. “Thank you Sir. To be honest, I was expecting a reprimand with the damage cause to the shuttle. But this is definitely better.” Polis returned to his seat. Grinning from ear to ear.

Liadra grinned her widest Denobulan grin and clapped loudly. Standing near enough to the Captain and XO for Polis to be able to hear her, she said, “Congratulations! I wish you good fortune in your future endeavours.” The wording was entirely on purpose.

Tom waited until Ezio sat down again before offering his hand for a Handshake. “Congratulations, Ensign Polis” Tom said warmly, with particular emphasis on the word Ensign. In the short time Tom had been aboard Endeavor he had spoken to Ezio the most, so he felt rather pleased to him achieving and progressing. “I suppose the next round of drinks ought to be on me” Tom smiled.

AJ walked through the doors into nine forward, he looked around to see alot of crew members converging in one place.

He walked over to a spare table in the corner and took a seat, he looked iut the window to see the vast space he will be in for a long time and a slight crease adorned the corner of his lips.

Polis acknowledged the Lt Cmdr with a less impressive smile but definitely a meaningful one and a nod before returning to his seat beside Tom. When he offered to buy the next round, Polis accepted with a wink. A thought ran through his mind which brought his mood down. Although he and Tom were only friends a few days, it was the start of a good friendship. One that starts out at the begining and last a whole career. With Polis now soon to be heading off and Tom, no doubt will be promoted to ensign, there was no guarantee they would be posted together again. He held up his drink to Tom and toasted, “Here’s to the best darn Doc in starfleet. Who re-attached the millions of nerves and saved my hand so I can play piano again”. He knew it was an exaggeration and couldn’t help laughing.
