USS Endeavour
Shuttle Bay - Main Sim
<snip>
Johnson looked around the shuttle bay. “Status report, everyone.”
-Captain Johnson, CO
Aliss had her tricorder out. “Residual chroniton readings but nothing specific. The portal is gone, sir.” Her nose curled at the smoking hulk of the shuttle. “And one casualty in the form of a shuttle.”
Snapping the tricorder away she moved to a wall to find a fire suppressor unit - bay sized - and began to unroll the hose assembly. It was meant for large scale blazes, usually in a great deal of emergency equipment, but she figured this worked with a lot of small blazes.
Aliss, Eng
Ang managed to get to her feet and headed towards the door to the bay. “Thank you,” she nodded to Aliss as she fetched a suppression unit, two other NEs helping her with the hose and console. She moved to the CO and smiled, though the look on her face was one of such fatigue as was seen after two days of no sleep and trying times. “England, with luck, is safe, Sir. And I have pretty good reason to believe the console that created the rift is destroyed and unusable.”
“That’s good news, Lieutenant,” Johnson said. “Once we sort out everything here, I’ll want to get a full debrief of what happened over there. Did our time-travelling guest stay behind?”
Taking a deep breath, she moved to the bay’s console beside the door and began typing furiously. She could collapse later. Right now, she was an engineer on a ship that needed an engineer. “I’ll get the status of the bay integrity, Sir. You… I’m sorry I don’t know your name,” she hollered to Aliss. “What can you tell me ‘right now’ about hull damage outside this room, or damage beyond the shuttle,” she nodded towards the fires they were putting out. Even without knowing who was who, she would figure out how to pull herself up by the bootstraps and worry about everything else later.

CE“Aliss, Chief,” she said. She wasn’t a large girl with vague Asian features, but she hauled the hose like a pro. “Warp drive is shut down due to the random power fluctuations from the creatures. Their energy arced like lightning with no clear path but disrupted systems, power and blew out other systems, but the hull is intact. We’ve just got a lot of little repairs to do for a while. And put Humpty back together again,” she said, her thumb hooking toward the shuttle.
- NE Aliss, EngAng furiously typed at the console a moment to verify there was nothing beyond what Aliss had told her. “She’s right, Sir,” she piped up a moment later and looked at the CO. A smile was on her face though her once regulation coif was now half tumbled loose around her shoulders, the hair no longer ‘up in regulation manner’. Her face was stained with grease and dust from being wiped with her dirty hands or from her final slide across the bay floor.
One eyebrow raised slightly in jest as she looked at him. “So ‘this’ is how you test your new Chief Engineer, Sir? How’d I do?” There was a hint of myrth to her voice as she waited for his reaction. She had barely checked in a few days prior and only ‘just’ got medical and psych cleared when all hell broke loose. She hadn’t even seen her office or engineering yet.

“I thought time-travelling adventures were part of the engineering manual for Discovery-class starships,” Johnson said, although the exhaustion was creeping up on him. “Have a fresh team of engineers come in here to take over, Lieutenant. I want you to report to Sickbay to make sure there are no adverse effects from your trip. Check in with me afterwards. I’ll be on the bridge.”
